Abstract
In a suspension for vehicles which comprises a spring strut arranged between body and axle and having a working cylinder with piston with piston rod sliding therein, and in which upper and lower working pressure chambers are formed in relation to the piston, it is proposed to connect the said chambers to one another by way of non-return valves, connected in opposition to one another, and to a pre-loaded spring, and to arrange damping restrictors parallel to the non-return valves and likewise connected to the pre-loaded spring for forming a passive suspension range component, and furthermore, in combination herewith as active suspension, to connect the working chambers of the working cylinder by way of a rapid-opening valve either to a supply pressure which is higher than the mean pressure needed for balancing the static axle load, or to a relief side. <IMAGE>
