Abstract

The present invention concerns a plate and the use of the plate in a bridge construction for traffic of different types. The plate has a profile of modified trapezoid shape and an upwardly open cross section comprising a plane top flange 1, webs 2 extending obliquely downwards and outwards from the top flange, on both sides thereof, bottom flanges 3 extending outwards from the webs, parallel with the top flange, edge flanges 4 extending upwards from the bottom flanges, preferably at right angles thereto, further flanges 6 extending from the edge flanges, and further webs 7 extending from these. Plates can engage over one another when placed alongside each other on a flat surface. The bridge construction according to the invention is characterized in that the bridge roadway is made up of plates 8 which are laid out and fixed alongside each other on main beams, transverse to the direction of these beams, and with overhangs on both sides thereof, and a concrete layer 14 is applied on these plates 8 with a greater maximum thickness than the total height of the plates. The concrete layer 14 is sealed at the top with a tread covering 15. <IMAGE>
