Abstract

PURPOSE:To manufacture an Al-plated steel sheet having superior corrosion resistance to exhaust gas, by applying Al plating to a steel sheet containing specific percentages of C, Si, Cu, Ni, and Cr. CONSTITUTION:Hot-dip aluminizing is applied to the steel sheet consisting of, by weight, <0.05% C, <0.10% Si, 0.10-0.50% Cu, 0.10-0.50% Ni, 1.80-3.00% Cr, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities and containing, if necessary, at least one element among Ti, Zr, Nb, and V by the quantity of the atomic equivalent of (C+N) content or above by the conventional method. Further, as inevitable impurities, <=about 1.0% Mn, <=about 0.05% P, <=about 0.05% S, <=about 0.02% N, and <=about 0.05% Al (which remains as a deoxidizer). In this way, the highly corrosion resistant Al-placed steel sheet suitable for constituting a member for treating exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine, etc., can be obtained.
