Abstract

The passenger bridge can be set out in the operative position from one where it is pushed downwards so as not to hinder the docking and undocking of the aircraft at the terminal using the so-called nose-in technique. The telescopic tubular path section is pivotable in the horizontal plane around the axis of the rotunda (3). Its free end is formed as a stairway (44) lowerable to ground level. When it is expanded, it bridges over the aircraft wing (11) so that the stairway (44) can be lowered to the rear of the wing. Passengers can then embark via the passenger bridge, and through a rear door, using a rear stairway (12).
