Abstract

The missile has a zone tube by which is detects a target at a predetermined distance, towards which it is flying. Equipment in the missile is fed with information covering the target position and/or movement vectors, the missile firing trajectory is simulated together with the ballistic path in order to strike the target, the type and aspect of the target is determined from the missile flight direction, as is a distance between a position for initial zone tube contact between missile and targe and a position for the target vulnerability centre as seen from the flight direction. The distance between the initial zone tube contact position between missile and target and one for the target vulnerability centre is determined based on data obtained from experience concerning the positions for varying target vulnerability centre in relation to the position of the first monitored parts of the target by the missile in flight. The retardation time valid for the distance between the two positions is also determined.
