Abstract

a. Electromagnetic agitator for continuously operating moulding installations. b. Agitator characterised in that it uses two iron cores 1a, 1b placed opposite each other, with a predetermined space between them, and multiple-phase coils 2a, 2b wound respectively on these two iron cores 1a, 1b in the manner of an annular winding, in order to produce a rotating magnetic field in the centre of the distance between the coils 2a, 2b. c. The invention applies to the agitation of baths of molten steel for mouldings. <IMAGE>
