Abstract

The top and/or bottom surface of the guide block (15) in the mounted position is constructed with grooves parallel to one another and ribs in between with a certain spacing. The grooves and ribs run parallel to the plane for a band-guiding surface of the block. The holder (16) provided for holding the block (15) in place is provided with corresponding ribs or grooves in order to enable the block (15), after removal and grinding of the same, to be mounted again in a simple manner in the holder in the exact position desired. Both the top surface and bottom surface of the block (15) are preferably provided with grooves and ribs, and the block preferably has two end faces, the planes of which are parallel to the said grooves, and both end faces are set up in order to be able to serve as guide surfaces for the saw band (27). <IMAGE>
