Abstract

Method and device for measuring the rate of wood feed in a continuous grinder, the time required by at least one wooden billet to cover a specific feed section being measured at the end face of the wooden billet and the speed being determined by means of an evaluation unit. The feed section is defined by the distance from signal transmitters, preferably reflecting infrared cells, which each modify their output signal when the beam region is entered and exited from.
