Abstract

Method and device for screening, particularly grain size screening, fragmented or particulate materials, by using flexible screening elements (1) connected to carrier elements (2, 2') which are transversally movable with respect to their extension so that the screening elements arranged between two adjacent carrier elements are alternatingly tensioned and released so as to facilitate the passage of the material through the screening holes (17) of the screening surface. A second screening element (16) arranged between two screening elements amongst the above-mentioned screening elements (1) may be displaced in a direction parallel to the screening surface and transversal to the carrier elements thereby causing a relative motion between the second screening element (16) and portions of the first adjacent screening elements (1), in parallel to the screening surface.
