Abstract

This invention is a method and a device for producing cartridge-housed propellant charges comprising gunpowder granules that are compressed in a cartridge case (4) designed for this purpose in an amount greater than that which would fit loosely. The invention is distinguished by the gunpowder being compacted in the cartridge case at an increased temperature.The device used for this purpose comprises, among other things, a plunger (6) with which the gunpowder is compacted and which is equipped with a front section that has a conic tip (7).<IMAGE>
