Abstract

An electrically driven actuator (1, 2, 4) is connected to an electric mains and has a linearly driven actuating body (4) that during normal valve operation is in mechanical connection to a valve spindle (7) via a connector. The connector (9, 22, 25, 24) can be triggered by means of a control body (22) which is in part actuated by spring force (24) and in part actuated by an equal magnetic force in the opposite direction originating from a coil (25) connected to the aforementioned electric mains. In the event of loss of power on the electric mains, the connector is triggered, which in turn triggers a tensioned mainspring (27) that is connected to the valve spindle. The valve spindle (7) then assumes a safety position (29), which usually results in a closed valve.<IMAGE>
