Abstract

An industry robot (2) has several movable parts (21-25) relative to each other. The robot is equipped with a positioning device which has a distributor (30) mounted on the robot hand (27). The distributor receives signals from a set (41-44) of at least three light sources with allotted positions. The distributor detects the directions from the distributor to the various light sources and from these directions together with the light sources' allocated positions the robot hand's position and subsequent orientation relative to the light sources is calculated by the calculating unit in the equipment.<IMAGE>
