Abstract
A tube-squeezing mechanism having squeezing means for applying and releasing pressure on a tube (2) comprises a squeezing element (10) with a squeezing edge (12) which is so proportioned and configured as to apply pressure to an area of a tube sufficiently small so that it does not substantially permanently alter the configuration of the tube so that when pressure is released from the tube, the tube will revert back substantially to its original shape. The element (10) has a pair of parallel opposed faces (11) with a surface (13) inclined at 30 DEG and connecting one face (11) to the substantially flat squeezing edge (12). The ratio of height of the inclined surface to the width of the squeezing edge is approximately 6:1 and conveniently the respective dimensions are 1.2mm to 0.2mm. <IMAGE>
