Abstract

A manually-operated labeller for dispensing labels from a carrier strip, comprises a casing (10) from which a handle (11) extends, a lever (40) pivotably mounted on the casing and opposing the handle, a feed mechanism (20) for feeding the carrier strip provided within the casing, a driving means (42) for driving the feed mechanism provided on the lever, a printing device (30) attached to the lever, and a label receiving member (50) removably mounted on the casing. The label receiving member comprises a label receiving portion (53) located to support a label being printed by the printing device, a support frame (52) integral with the label receiving portion, a pressing member (51) for pressing the labels onto the article provided on the support frame extending parallel with the label receiving segment so as to define a label forwarding space (55) therebetween, and a carrier strip turnback edge (531) provided on the label forwarding space side of the label receiving portion. <IMAGE>
