Abstract

The magnetic tape device according to the invention, in particular a cassette device, has an intermediate gear wheel (2) with a cut-out region (2a) in a subsection of the row of teeth, in particular circumferential toothing. This cut-out region (2a) serves to interrupt the drive connection with a primary-movement drive (1). On the intermediate gear wheel, a control cam section (3) has been shaped out. An active part (7), which is actuated by the control cam section (3), acts directly or indirectly on a control part (12), which controls directly or indirectly the advancement and return of a tape drive mechanism, which comprises such components as magnetic head, pinch roller and intermediate roller. A change-over part (9) for changing over the tape transporting direction, may be provided, which part is actuated by the active part (7). <IMAGE>
