Abstract

The invention relates to a circuit arrangement for the compensation of electrical reactive power in a current network, which circuit arrangement comprises at least one compensation unit which is connected to the network and has an inductor, a capacitor and a first bidirectional thyristor switch in a series circuit, characterised in that an inductive impedance (9) and a second bidirectional thyristor switch (10) are connected in series to the terminals of the capacitor (2), and in that the turn-on electrodes of the thyristors (11, 12) of the second thyristor switch (10) are subjected to a signal which is supplied by a circuit (15) having an OR-circuit, the OR-circuit being connected with its inputs on the one hand to a first measurement circuit (14) for determining a specific voltage threshold at the terminals of the first thyristor switch (3), and on the other hand to a second measurement circuit (13) for determining a specific voltage threshold at the terminals of the second thyristor switch (10). <IMAGE>
