Abstract

The mechanism is for cutting a lengthy object (1), such as a board, using a hand tool. It has a stop part (4a,4b) and a straight edge (5) against which the long sides (2,3) of the board are pressed. Relative to the stop part is a lockable rotating part (6) with a straight edge (7) along which cutting occurs. Across the stop part straight edge (5) is a movable component (14) which spring-presses against the board long side during cutting.
