Abstract

The invention concerns a self-supporting roof element (1) consisting of profiled plates and insulation material (10) and a roof structure in which these elements (1) are included. The roof element's (1) longitudinal edges are made up of C-sections (2) on whose upper flange (5) battens (16) of wood are placed along the C-section (2). On the lower flanges (3) and above the battens (16) profiled plates (7 and 8) are placed with the direction of the profile opposite to the longitudinal direction of the battens (1). The space between the profiled plates (7 and 8) is filled with an insulating material (10). The elements (1) are partly placed in a row with the longitudinal direction coinciding with the main direction of the ridge of the roof (13), partly next to each other. The joining of the profiled plates (7 and 8) to the C-sections (2) as well as the joining between neighbouring C-profiles (2) is effected so that the roof of joined elements (1) can be seen to constitute a single rigid slab. Since the upper profiled plates (8) in the element (1) are ventilated from below, the roof can also be regarded as a cold roof.<IMAGE>
