Abstract

A lavatory including a lavatory bowl and a flushing cistern. The flushing cistern is designed to empty water into a flushing box (3) for passing on further to the lavatory bowl, during flushing. The flushing box is supported on a flushing box stand (11), which extends from the flushing box down to the lavatory bowl's outlet pipe (12), and the flushing cistern is on top of the flushing box. According to the invention, the flushing box is shaped with a closed chamber (8) connected to an inner space (18) in the flushing box stand (11). In the upper side of the flushing box's closed chamber (8) there is a hole (10), which is immediately below a corresponding hole (13) in the flushing cistern. An extra hole (14) is situated in the flushing cistern above the flushing box's open part. These holes (10, 13, and 14) hold a ventilation device of a known type to create a closed inner air transfer from the lavatory bowl and the flushing box to the outlet pipe. The ventilation device includes a fan and a non-return valve, where the fan is essentially driven by an electric motor, which can be switched on or off as required.<IMAGE>
