Abstract

An air tube cooler e.g. a vehicle radiator comprises non-finned straight parallel tubes (1) having sealingly- interconnected expanded ends e.g. of hexagonal cross-section. In use heat transfer fluid flows between the tubes and is cooled by air flowing through the tubes (1). In order to reduce the weight of the sides, the sides are formed of tubes (3) having a constant cross-section, preferably pentagonal, along their length, which tubes (3) are sealingly interconnected to each other to form a side wall (4) and to the ends of the adjacent tubes (1). <IMAGE>
