Abstract

According to the method, a composite strip (22) comprising the container strip (10) and a covering strip (23), with their sterile faces opposite each other, is supplied. They are separated at the entry of a sterile enclosure (25) in which the containers (11) are formed by means of a punch (13) and filled with a sterile atmosphere through nozzles (17a), the container strip forming a lower wall of the enclosure. The filled containers are covered with a cover strip (20) sterilised by the emission of heat (39) without it being possible for the inside of the containers to be contaminated and the cover and container strips are joined in a leaktight manner by means of a heating electrode (19). The method is particularly suitable for packaging perishable food products, particularly dairy products. <IMAGE>
