Abstract

A device is discussed which comprises a radiation source coupled to a monomode optical transmission fibre with the aid of a resonant cavity. It is explained that for this purpose the laser resonator forms part of the resonant cavity and that the end of the transmission fibre adjoining the resonant cavity is covered with a reflecting layer at the location of the core. This arrangement provides an increased laser transmission efficiency.
