Abstract

1492002 Turning articles on conveyers HOLMEK AS 14 Jan 1976 [17 Jan 1975] 01400/76 Heading B8A Apparatus for forming similarly shaped objects 8, e.g. sacks, into a predetermined layer for transfer to a palletizing machine, comprises a conveyer 1, e.g. a belt or roller conveyer, over which an object guiding device is located, the latter comprising a pair of parallel levers 2 which are each pivotally mounted at 3 at one end and pivotally connected at their other ends 5 by a stay so that the levers 2 can be swung in unison between the full and phantom positions shown by means of a pressure cylinder 6, a conveyer belt 10 passing about rollers 11, 12 on each lever 2, which belts 10 are driven by respective drive means 4, the levers 2 serving to guide an object 8 to one or other side of the conveyer 1, and objects which have to be turned through approximately 90 degrees on the conveyer surface after passing the levers 2 are turned by turning means 7 which each comprise a curved finger 14 rotatable by a pressure cylinder 13 into the path of such an object 8 (as shown). The objects 8 are arrested at the end of the conveyer 1 by a stop piece 9. The cylinders 6, 13 can be programmed to operate in a manner such that the desired predetermined pattern of objects is produced on the conveyer 1, against the stop piece 9.
