Abstract

1469421 Directing vehicle headlamps CIBIE PROJECTEURS 7 May 1974 [14 June 1973] 20103/74 Heading F4R A headlamp system comprises at least two headlamp assemblies 10a, 10b mounted so that their orientations can be varied by respective hydro-mechanical transducers 30, the transducers having inputs connected by hydraulic conduits to the corresponding outputs of respective mechanical-hydraulic transducers 38 having a common manually adjustable mechanical control element 46 for simultaneous operation of the transducers. The transducers 38 are preferably of the same type as the transducers 30, in which a push-rod 20 bears against a flexible diaphragm 28 closing the fluid-containing chamber of a casing, the control element 46 being a yoke which incorporates the push-rods 48a, 48b of the transducers 38 and is engaged by a manuallyrotatable screw-threaded element 50. In a modification (Fig. 2, not shown), the control element (46) is actuated by a further hydromechanical transducer (56) connected by a hydraulic conduit to a further manuallyoperable mechanical-hydraulic transducer (60).
