The thermal glass ampoule (6) is attached in the carrier by several mechanical methods, e.g., it is screwed, glued, soldered, etc. The activation of the apparatus, when the glass ampoule (6) breaks due to the undesirably increased temperature, creates an aperture in the carrier (1) through which the medium spills into the protected electrical device, starts at 50°C.

Description

Field of the Invention The invention relates to cooling of an undesirably increased temperature or suppression of flame burning in protected electrical devices, e.g., in air conditioning and air-handling units, gas connections, electrical substations and switchboards, in computer boxes, in servers, telephone exchanges and similar. In these protected electrical devices, undesirable therrnal phenomena can occur, the negative effects of Which can lead to a gradual loss of functionality or destruction of these devices and in extreme cases can even lead to flame buming. This can be caused by various processes such as undesirable chemical reactions, electrical short circuits, overheating of the system, electric arcing, flaring of operating fluids, etc.
Background of the Invention To decrease the undesirable temperature increase or to suppress flame buming in protected electrical devices, low-pressure apparatuses are suitable. There are low-pressure automatic apparatuses for cooling the undesirably increasing temperature or suppressing flame buming in protected devices Which comprise a cooling medium carrier, the activation of Which is based on bursting the cooling medium carrier due to the undesirably increasing temperature or flame buming arisen in a protected device. For these devices, the temperature at Which the cooling medium carrier gets broken cannot be simply controlled to prevent the spill of the medium into the protected device.
Summarv of the Invention The above stated disadvantage is eliminated and the field of protective equipment is supplemented by a low-pressure apparatus for decreasing the undesirably increased temperature or suppressing the flame buming in protected electrical devices, Which is arranged in this protected electrical device and consists of a carrier inside Which a compressed cooling medium is present; the carrier is further provided With a f1lling valve for f1lling the cooling medium into the carrier; furtherrnore, the carrier is provided With a pressure gauge for passive orientation control of the cooling medium and a pressure sensor for disconnecting the protected electrical device from the electric power and for connecting With a signaling equipment in the case undesirably increased temperature is detected inside the protected device, Wherein the summary of the invention is that the carrier is made of plastic or metal or metal composition in any holloW closed shape and size, Wherein the carrier is further provided With at least one temperature detector, e.g. a therrnal glass ampoule. The therrnal glass ampoule is attached in the carrier by several methods, e.g., it is screWed, glued, soldered, etc. to the carrier shell opening. As soon as the temperature in the area of a protected electrical device Where a low-pressure apparatus is arranged increases to a certain undesired value, the glass ampoule breaks, creates an aperture in the carrier through Which the cooling medium spills into the area of the protected electrical device and cools down the undesirably increased temperature or suppresses flame buming.
The Cooling medium carrier is provided with a sealing joint for some equipment types.
The activation temperature of the apparatus, when the glass ampoule breaks due to the undesirably increased temperature, creates an aperture in the carrier through which the cooling medium spills into the protected electrical device, is 50°C. Glass ampoules are made of glass with various compositions which break at different temperatures in the range from 50°C to 260°C.
The temperature at which the therrnal glass ampoule breaks can be set by using ampoules having various glass compositions and thus the low-pressure apparatus activation can be controlled according to the conditions and assumptions of the occurrence of the undesirably increased temperature.
Brief Description of the Drawings The invention is described in more detail in the accompanying figures, where Fig. l shows a side view of a low-pressure apparatus for decreasing the increased temperature or suppressing flame buming in the protected electrical devices comprising one glass ampoule, and Fig. 2 shows a side view of a low-pressure apparatus for decreasing the increased temperature or suppressing flame buming in the protected electrical devices comprising 5 glass ampoules.
Examples of Invention Embodiment Example l The passive low-pressure apparatus for decreasing undesirably increased temperature or suppressing flame buming in the protected electrical devices shown in Fig. 1 is created for an arrangement into a protected electrical device such as a smaller electric energy substation, wherein the apparatus consists of a carrier l made of metal in the shape of a hollow cuboid closed by welding, wherein the carrier l is further provided with a f1lling valve å for f1lling the cooling medium å into the carrier l, in which the cooling medium å is pressurized, the carrier l is further provided with a pressure gauge 2 for passive orientation control of the cooling medium å status in the carrier l. The carrier l is further provided with a therrnal glass ampoule Q which is provided with a thread on one side and is screwed into the shell of the carrier l where an opening having a thread is made so that the opening is sealed. If in a protected electrical device, here in this example embodiment with a smaller electrical power substation, the temperature rises to the undesirable value of the glass ampoule Q breaks and thus damages the carrier l in which an aperture is formed and the cooling medium å spills into the area of the protected electrical device, i.e. into the area of the smaller electrical power substation and cools down the undesirably increased temperature in this protected device. This way the low-pressure passive apparatus gets activated, and the activation temperature in this example embodiment is 50°C. The therrnal glass ampoule Q is made of glass which breaks at the temperature of 50°C. Furthermore, the apparatus for decreasing the increased temperature or / eventual suppressing flame buming in a protected electrical device is provided with a pressure sensor A for disconnecting the protected electrical device from the electric power source and for connecting with the signaling device if the given undesirable temperature is reached in the protected electrical device.
ExamplePassive low-pressure apparatus for decreasing undesirably increased temperature or suppression of flame burning in a protected electrical device shown in Fig. 2 is created for an arrangement into a larger electric energy substation, wherein the apparatus consists of a carrier l made of metal in the shape of an enclosed hollow cylinder sealed on both ends with a sealing joint 1, wherein the carrier l is further provided with a f1lling valve Q for f1lling the cooling medium å into the carrier l, in which the cooling medium å is pressurized, the carrier l is further provided with a pressure gauge 2 for passive orientation control of the cooling medium i status in the carrier l. The carrier l is further provided with five therrnal glass ampoules Q evenly distributed around the perimeter, which are on one side provided with a thread and are screwed into the shell of the carrier l where openings having a thread are made so that the openings are sealed.
At a certain undesirably increased temperature in a protected device, a larger electric energy substation in this example embodiment, glass ampoules Q break which damages the carrier l, an aperture in the carrier l is created in the area of every broken ampoule Q and the cooling medium i spills into the area of the protected device and cools down the undesirably increased temperature in the protected device.
The therrnal glass ampoules Q are made of glass which breaks at the temperature of 50°C, which is the activation temperature of the low-pressure apparatus. Furthermore, the apparatus for decreasing the increased temperature or suppressing flame buming in a protected electrical device is provided with a pressure sensor å for disconnecting the protected electrical device from the electric power source and for connecting with the signaling device if the given undesirable temperature is reached in the protected electrical device.
Furthermore, the apparatus for decreasing the increased temperature or suppressing flame buming in a protected electrical device is provided with a pressure sensor å for disconnecting the protected electrical device from the electric power source and connecting with the signaling device if the given undesirable temperature is reached in the protected electrical device.
Industrial Applicability The invention can be utilized in protected devices, e.g., in air conditioning and air-handling units, gas connections, electrical substations, electrical switchboards, in computer boxes, in server boxes, telephone exchanges and similar.
