Abstract

A refining element for disintegrating and refining fiber material in a disc refiner. The refining element is formed with a base surface (1, 11), on which a pattern of bars (2, 12) is arranged. The bars (2, 12) extend over the surface of the refining element and are separated by intermediate grooves (6, 13), and flow restrictions (14) can be located in the grooves (6, 13) between the bars (2, 12). Channels (7, 15) are arranged at the same level as the base surface (1, 11) of the refining element for a free passage of steam outward and inward without obstruction by bars (2, 12) of the refining element, or fiber material in the grooves (6, 13) or flow restrictions (14) in the grooves (6, 13). The upper edges of the bars can thereby remain unbroken.

Description

508 286 2 capacity and operational stability. The fibrous material in the grooves also obstructs the flow of steam.

According to European patent 179 041, the grinding element is formed with wide channels without bars, which channels extend outwards through the outer part of the grinding element. The channels are bent in the intended direction of rotation of the grinding element. The steam can thus flow outwards through the channels at the same time as the fibrous material is prevented from following due to the rotation of the grinding element.

However, these channels reduce the size of the grinding element's machining surface and thus its efficiency.

The present invention means that the above problems can be reduced while obtaining additional advantages regarding the quality of the refined material. According to the invention, grinding elements are formed with channels for the steam which are arranged at a level with the base surface of the grinding element so that the upper edges of the booms are left unbroken.

Through this design of the grinding element, the fibrous material will be processed efficiently by unbroken boom edges in the grinding gap between the grinding elements on the two opposite grinding wheels. At the same time, the generated steam can be diverted through the channels without obstructing or disturbing the flow of material through the grinding gap.

In this way, the capacity of the refiner can be increased while the pulp quality can be improved.

Uppfinningens närmare kännetecken framgår av patent- kraven. The more detailed features of the invention appear from the patent claims.

In the following, the invention will be described in more detail with reference to the figures which show two embodiments of the invention.

Fig 1 visar ett malelement avsett för en plan del av en malskiva i en skivraffinör; Fig 2 visar ett snitt enligt II-II i fig 1; 5Ü8 286 3 Fig 3 visar ett malelement för en konisk del av en malskiva i en skivraffinör; Fig 4 visar ett snitt enligt IV-IV i fig 3.Fig. 1 shows a grinding element intended for a flat part of a grinding wheel in a board refiner; Fig. 2 shows a section according to II-II in Fig. 1; Fig. 3 shows a grinding element for a conical part of a grinding wheel in a board refiner; Fig. 4 shows a section according to IV-IV in Fig. 3.

The grinding element according to Fig. 1 is flat and is intended to be placed on a flat part of a grinding wheel in a board refiner. On the base surface 1 of the grinding element, substantially radial booms 2 are arranged in an outer part 3 and substantially radial coarser booms 4 in an inner part 5. The booms 2 are placed so that intermediate grooves 6 are formed. Flow restrictions, so-called dams, can also be arranged in the tracks.

At the level of the base surface 1, channels 7 extend below the bars 2 and obliquely in relation to the direction of the bars.

The 2 upper edges of the bars are thus left unbroken. The channels 7 allow free passage of steam outwards and inwards without obstruction of the booms 2 and the material or flow restrictions which are located in the grooves 6 between the booms 2.

The grinding element according to Fig. 3 is bent to be placed on a conical part of a grinding wheel in a board refiner. It can be an outer conical part of a grinding wheel located outside an inner flat part of a disc refiner or a completely conical grinding wheel.

On the base surface 11 of the grinding element, booms 12 are placed which are separated by intermediate grooves 13. In the grooves, flow restrictions 14, so-called dams, are arranged to force the material out of the grooves for processing between the upper edges of the booms 12 on opposite grinding wheel grinding elements. According to this embodiment, channels 15 are arranged at the level of the base surface 11 during the flow restrictions 14. Thereby the steam can pass under the flow restrictions 14 without being hindered or disturbed by the material flow.
