Abstract
Description
15 20 25 30 35 7811158-0 ; och fuktdeformation medför ej sällan brott i limfogarna. 15 20 25 30 35 7811158-0; and moisture deformation often causes fractures in the adhesive joints.
Instead of glued boards together in accordance with what has been described above, it would be conceivable to assemble the boards by means of glue-coated wooden plugs or guide pins, which are inserted into pre-drilled holes in the side edges of the boards. However, even such an embodiment of a shelf disc has significant disadvantages. The glue coating is a rather unpleasant and time-consuming craft work, which does not like to be mechanized. The composite shelf can not be adapted to any resulting, wishes for other shelf widths and in addition this type of shelf is also unsuitable in damp rooms.
In order to eliminate the above-mentioned disadvantages, it could be conceivable to use, instead of glue-coated wooden pins, glued wooden pins for joining a number of boards suitable for the desired shelf width. In the event of changed width requirements, the boards could then be disassembled and changed in width, since the glued guide pins do not constitute an obstacle to such disassembly. Nor would any special tools or devices for gluing be needed. A serious problem with such a shelf board construction, however, is that the joining of loose boards with glued guide pins provides insufficient cohesion and stability, especially in the direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the boards of the shelf boards thus joined. Even with insignificant stresses in certain directions, they would risk falling apart in their original constituents or becoming too "slippery", and they would therefore not be acceptable as glued shelves as complete shelf boards.
However, the above-mentioned disadvantages of glued shelf boards are eliminated and the above-mentioned problems of shelving boards with glued guide pins are solved by combining the latter with the round steel or square known per se in accordance with the present invention. -0 the steel shackles, and this in a certain definite way. The loose boards joined together with glued guide pins are namely clamped at the shelf assembly with the end portions of the shelf plate between the vertical pairwise support posts, which in turn are held resiliently laterally by means of the steel brackets just mentioned. The shelf boards held only by glued guide pins are thereby prevented from falling apart in the transverse direction of the boards. In addition, however, the shelves are also kept unshakable in height by guide grooves milled out at the ends of the boards, in which the steel brackets at the shelf assembly are recessed. After the assembly of the originally loose shelf boards, these therefore, in combination with the steel brackets and the said clamping of the end portions of the shelf discs in all directions, form rigidly held shelf discs with exactly the same rigidity and strength properties as the considerably more expensive glued board joints.
Compared to a shelf with glued shelf boards, a shelf according to the invention has several decisive differences and advantages. One such is that the shelf plates, after release from the posts, can easily be divided into their components and, if necessary, converted into shelves with other shelf widths.
Conversely, this property means that by stocking (pre-drilled) shelves of a single width - and in practice normally a single length - you can without tools other than a hammer and without gluing devices and the like. immediately assemble storage shelves of the different shelf widths that may be required for a particular storage device at the moment.
All normally occurring shelf dimensions can be stored only by storing a single standard dimension on the shelf boards. This is an extremely large advantage, especially in the case of larger shelf-storage needs.
Another significant difference between shelves according to the invention and shelves with glued shelf boards is the large difference in moisture resistance. Unlike the latter, shelves according to the invention can be used in damp rooms, basements, freezers, etc., possibly also outdoors, etc., which significantly increases the applicability of the shelves according to the invention.
I riktning- _en vinkelrätt mot denna front ger hyllstegarna i I samverkan med hyllplanen tillräcklig sidostabili- tet .Although the shelf boards according to the invention are composed of boards which can be released from one another, the finished shelf boards nevertheless form highly diagonally rigid shelf boards, which in turn stiffen and stabilize a finished shelf in both longitudinal and transverse directions. The diagonal rigidity is achieved by the glued guide pins between the holes in opposite board edges laterally rigidly and shearably joining these board edges, so that the entire shelf board, seen in horizontal projection, forms a completely diagonal rigid board. The complete shelf device thereby becomes in its entirety side rigid and diagonal rigid in the direction parallel to the shelf front. In the direction perpendicular to this front, the shelf ladders in cooperation with the shelf provide sufficient lateral stability.
To what has now been stated, however, is the very important property for practical use, that the shelves - in addition to their aforementioned great flexibility - can be made with considerably lower total costs (approx. 40%) than for shelves made by gluing. This considerable cost reduction therefore means both large savings for larger storage devices but also that the shelf device according to the invention can enable application for many purposes, where it has not previously been considered affordable to utilize the advantages that a shelf system entails. What characterizes a shelf construction according to the invention in order to achieve said valuable advantages compared with previously known shelf constructions is apparent from the following claims.
An embodiment of the invention is described in more detail below with reference to the accompanying drawing, in which Fig. 1 shows in perspective view and in position before mounting the upper end portion of a so-called shelf ladder with two support posts, Fig. 2 shows a number of detachable shelves seen in plan and provided with pre-drilled holes in the side edges and with loose guide pins inserted in one side edge of the shelves, Fig. 3 shows the same shelves joined to a shelf and placed between two shelf steps four support posts, Fig. 4 illustrates in perspective view the arrangement of one end of a shelf board, and Fig. 5 shows in perspective view a solid material package for delivery, transport and storage of the shelf construction according to the invention.
Detta betyder omvänt, att en bärande hyllstege kan utföras nästan en- bart av (standardiserade) snedhålsförsedda bärstolpar 10 och ett antal rundståls- eller fyrkantstålsbyglar 12.Fig. 1 shows vertical support posts 10 for a so-called shelf ladder, in which slanted holes 11 for steel brackets 12 are suitably accommodated by means of automatic drilling machines, which are to serve as support for shelf discs. It should be noted that before the shelf plates are placed on the steel brackets 12, the latter - in addition to two cross-connections of wooden bars 13 at the top and bottom - are the only cross-connections between the support posts. Conversely, this means that a supporting shelf ladder can be made almost exclusively of (standardized) obliquely provided support posts 10 and a number of round steel or square steel brackets 12.
The wooden bolts 13 at the top and bottom are according to the invention movable (without gluing) but still momentarily rigidly connected to the support posts 10 with double wooden pins 14 at each end of the cross connections. In this way, the wooden bars 13 do not prevent the elastically resilient cross-connection between the support posts 10, which is provided by the steel brackets 12.
Figs. 2 and 3 show an example of a shelf board, wherein in this example the shelf board consists of three boards 15, 16 and 17. All boards are provided at their edges with (also suitably mechanically designed) pre-drilled 10 15 20 25 30 35 7811158-o 'f holes 18 for guide pins 19 of preferably wood. All boards except the outer boards 15 and 17 are mutually equal; the outer boards are provided in one corner with mechanically made recesses 20 for the shelf connection of the shelf boards to the support posts 10. For many storage shelves, especially for storage of coarser materials, the shelf boards can be made of unplaned timber, as such wood provides the greatest possible bearing capacity. at the shelf discs and at the same time low processing cost. For example, an unplaned 1 "board (25 mm) at normal planing measurements has about 30% greater load capacity than a once planed 1" board (22 mm), and not less than about 55% greater load capacity than a adhesive joint surface, where the thickness in two rounds must be planed or ground down to a thickness of 20 mm. The construction according to the invention saves a planing.
The shelf boards according to the invention can, however, also be designed for shelf constructions with large appearance requirements. The outer boards 15, 17 of the shelf disc are then suitably made with bevelled visible edges and the boards are made planed throughout.
For even more exclusive designs, the shelf boards can be made of hardwood but still joined with wooden guide pins.
Fig. 3 illustre- rar även hyllskivans anordnande vid bärstolpar 10. Slut- ligen visar fig. Fig. 2 shows the boards 15, 16, 17 before joining to a shelf board, while Fig. 3 shows the shelf board joined with the pins 19 inserted in opposite holes 18. Fig. 3 also illustrates the arrangement of the shelf board at support posts 10. Finally, fig. 2 and 3 on the underside of the boards cut out grooves 21, into which the stirrups 12 are inserted during assembly.
Fig. 4 illustrates in a schematic perspective sketch the mounting and operation method of a shelf construction.
In the figure, one end of the round steel stirrup 12 is already inserted into the oblique hole 11, while the other end of the stirrup is about to be inserted into its hole 11. The stirrup 12 will then with some suspension laterally connect the two support posts 10. It should be noted that stirrups 12 are arranged at the height of all the shelf plates, i.e. also the shelf plates 10 at the top and at the bottom of a shelf ladder (i.e. at the height of the cross members 13 of the shelf ladders).
A shelf board according to the invention, which in this case consists of the three boards 15, 16, 17 can now be fitted with the bracket 12 as supporting support. The shelf plate, which at first is only joined to the unlucked guide pins 19 and therefore quite unstable, during assembly now engages with its groove 21 the round steel bracket 12, which is simultaneously stabilized by the shelf groove 21 against deflection or buckling in all directions and thus also obtains multiple double bearing capacity.
At the same time, the shelf plate (which to begin with should be tilted slightly in the transverse direction of the shelf plate to make room between the support posts 10 with comfortable clearance) with its recesses 20 between the resiliently held support posts 10 »Through this operation, the various board boards are locked through interoperability of the described components stably together, and the shelf construction is transformed from a relatively "slippery" and unstable collection of wooden components to a rigid construction in all directions, which from a bearing and appearance point of view is fully comparable to a several times more expensive but significantly less useful flexible adhesive joint construction.
Fig. 5 shows in perspective and in a single characteristic picture the special advantages of the inventive device, the most important of which can be specified as follows: 1) The ready-to-assemble material for shelves of highly varying widths can - if the shelf lengths are most often standardized in practice single standard length - delivered, transported and stored in the form of a package, which only comprises three light and compact folding components: the pre-drilled support posts of the shelf ladders, associated crossbars at the top and bottom and a number of similar pre-drilled shelf boards. Thus no different width glued shelves despite varying storage requirements on different such widths; no fixed shelf ladders with locked width measurements, but only support posts with crosspieces and shelf boards of unit size. The only exception is the steel stirrups, which should be made with widths corresponding to the shelf plate widths, but these stirrups are both cheap and not bulky. 2) The shelves can be made of both planed and unplaned stocked "boardboards", t.o.m. of committee boards for certain coarser shelves, as no requirements are placed on right-angled gluable edges or surfaces. Even with normal-good wood quality, the costs for the shelves according to the invention will be significantly lower than for glued shelves of the same wood quality - according to the calculations a cost saving for the shelves of about 40%. 7 3) The entire shelf system can be manufactured with simple and inexpensive machine equipment. Normally, only a device is required for cutting stocked boards and for drilling holes in shelf plate edges and support posts. No expensive and complicated gluing equipment, no costly device for gluing multilayer shelf boards (eg plywood type etc.). The hole drilling equipment is admittedly simple, but can suitably be replaced by automatic drilling devices.
