Description
s ,p771z121-7 2 peratur, fukt, syre, ultraviolett strålning eller kombinationer därav. s, p771z121-7 2 temperature, moisture, oxygen, ultraviolet radiation or combinations thereof.
In addition, in order to avoid these inconveniences, solar energy absorbers of the type initially indicated have been produced with metal rods projecting from the pores of the sealed anodizing layer. Although the latter absorbers are cheaper and less sensitive to temperature and corrosion than the previously described group of absorbers, they still leave much to be desired in terms of corrosion resistance and to some extent also in terms of absorbency. The protruding metal rods also have a tendency to retain dirt particles on the layer surface, which break the insulation between adjacent rods and thereby greatly impair the selectivity of the layer. The object of the present invention is to improve solar energy absorbers of the type indicated in the introduction in such a way that substantially optimal properties with respect to both corrosion resistance and lasting absorbency are achieved. The solar energy absorber according to the invention is characterized for the said purpose mainly in that the metal is in the form of pores completely enclosed and insulated from the sealed alumina layer with an average diameter of less than 0.08 μm, the metal rods being located at an average center distance less than 0.1 / um and has a total volume per unit area of 0.03 - 0.12 cm? / m2. The absorber designed according to the invention has a completely dense surface layer, which is extremely corrosion-resistant and is otherwise not affected by the disadvantages of the known absorber layers. The solar energy absorber according to the invention can be manufactured easily and at a low price by anodizing and electrolysis operations and exhibits very good absorption properties in the wavelength range 0.3 - 2.5 μm, in which about 70% of the total solar energy radiation occurs at ground level. of the absorber according to the invention is made to lie very close to um. Within the wavelength range 0.3 - l the theoretical maximum.
Speciellt fördelaktiga resultat erhålles, om tjockleken hos det företrä- desvis genom anodisering, särskilt likströmsanodisering, bildade alumi- niumoxidskiktets tjocklek understiger l um och samtidigt dess porers genomsnittliga centrumavstånd understiger 0,08 /um och den genomsnitt- liga pordiametern understiger 0,06 /um.Particularly advantageous results are obtained if the thickness of the alumina layer formed, preferably by anodizing, in particular direct current anodizing, is less than 1 μm, and at the same time the average center distance of its pores is less than 0.08 .mu.m and the average pore diameter is less than 0.06 .mu.m. .
The pore volume filled with metal can with special advantage amount to 0.05 - 0.09 cmg / m2. It should also be ensured that the pores are not overfilled, so that metal rods arising from the alumina layer are not formed, since these result in a more difficult-to-seal and uneven and thus in terms of pressure as well as mechanically sensitive absorption layers.
Furthermore, the disc-shaped element provided with said surface layer can advantageously consist of aluminum with an Fe content of less than 0.25% Fe and a Si content of less than 0.12%. As a result of anodizing, an extremely pure alumina layer with a particularly low emissivity is formed with respect to the relevant wavelength range for re-radiating energy from the layer side of the absorber.
The invention also relates, as mentioned, to a preferred process for producing a solar energy absorber in the form of an aluminum plate-shaped element and a surface layer arranged on one side thereof with high absorbency and low emissivity, comprising forming a fine-pore alumina layer with a thickness below about 1 .mu.m on one side of the disc-shaped element by anodizing treatment thereof, insertion of metal into the pores by electrolytic means and post-emptying of said surface layer. It is characteristic of the invention that the alumina layer is produced on said element side by anodizing, preferably direct current anodizing, with such mutual matching of the anodizing bath composition, temperature and voltage, that an alumina layer with an average pore diameter is formed on the element. , 08 .mu.m and an average center distance between the pores of less than 0.1 .mu.m, and that the conditions during the electrolysis are adjusted so that the pores of the alumina layer are partially filled with metal in an amount of 0.03 to 0.12 cm @ 2 / m @ 2, preferably 0.05 - 0.09 cm? / M2.
Preferably, the anodizing bath composition, temperature and voltage are adjusted relative to each other to form an alumina layer having a thickness of less than 1 .mu.m, an average center distance between the pores of less than 0.08 .mu.m and an average pore diameter of less than 0.06 μm, and preferably also so that an alumina layer is formed, the pore volume of which exceeds 5%, preferably exceeds 8% of the total volume of the porous alumina layer.
Suitably, the anodizing treatment is carried out on a sheet-shaped element of aluminum, the content of Fe of which is less than 0.25% and the content of Si of which is less than 0.2% to achieve a very pure alumina layer with the consequent particularly low emissivity.
As the active component in anodizing baths, dilute phosphoric acid is preferably preferred, but sulfuric acid, oxalic acid or chromic acid or mixtures of said acids may be used. Before the anodizing, the aluminum-containing sheet element is prepared in a conventional manner to remove natural oxide coatings. This pretreatment or preparation can take place, for example, as follows: Immersion of the disc-shaped element in dilute nitric acid, containing about 200 g / l HNO 3, for about 5 minutes and then rinsing the element with cold water; pickling the element in dilute sodium hydroxide solution, containing about 50 g / l NaOH, at about 5000 for about 3 minutes and then rinsing the element with cold water; and neutralization of alkaline residues on the pickled and rinsed element surface by immersion in dilute nitric acid, containing about 200 g / l HNO3, for about 1 minute and then rinsing the element with cold water.
Among metals which may advantageously be considered individually or in the desired combination for the at least partial filling of the pores of the alumina layer following the anodization, Ni, Co, Cu, Fe, Sn, Ag and Zn may be mentioned.
The subsequent sealing of the surface layer on the sheet-shaped element following the filling of the pores of the alumina layer with metal can take place in a conventional manner by immersing the layered element in hot water.
Thus, the sealing can take place by immersing the element for about 30 minutes in deionized water with a temperature close to the boiling point, for example about 9800.
The aluminum plate was electrolysed in said bath for a period of 15 minutes, using alternating current with a voltage of 8 V. Ni was used as the counter electrode material.
The electrolysis-treated sheet was then rinsed, whereupon the layer formed by anodizing and electrolyte sealing was sealed by immersing the sheet in deionized water at a temperature of about 9806 for 30 minutes.
