[Also in Division F4] An opening in a vehicle roof is covered by a movable panel 10 which can be pivoted about either end or moved to a position parallel to, and spaced from, the roof, the panel being moved by pneumatic piston and cylinder devices. The panel may be of a transparent or translucent plastic and is mounted in a frame 14 carried by telescopic struts 20, 21 at each end. The struts are connected by a linkage 35, 38, 39 and are moved by a piston 32 in a cylinder 31 having air supply connections 41, 42. A rubber sealing strip is held in a channel 18. A single or individual control valve can be provided for both ends of the panel. A spring in the pneumatic cylinder prevents relative movement between the members of each strut.
