Abstract

The method involves supplying air or air-fuel mixture through an intake valve (34) in a combustion chamber (11) by an intake channel (30). Air flow (35) is controlled or regulated in the intake channel by a throttle valve (32). Fuel is supplied into the combustion chamber or into a suction pipe (33) of the intake channel by fuel supply (40). The throttle valve is closed during start of an internal combustion engine (1) such that the fuel supply partially takes place during suction phase of the internal combustion engine. An independent claim is also included for a control unit for controlling an internal-combustion engine.
