Abstract

A trap for animals like rats and snakes is described. It comprises a house with an entrance, with a hit mechanism arranged to hit the animal when the animal releases a release element. A bait space is arranged behind the release element The trap is especially characterized' in that the hit mechanism comprises a hit arm (1) turnable around a first axis (2). The hit arm (1) is arranged to be prestressed at one end against a spring means (3) to a first position, releasably locked by a lock means (4). This is arranged to release the hit arm (1), hitting to a second position when the release element (5) is activated by the animal by its movement in the direction from the entrance. The release element (5) comprises an element (6), turnable around a second substantially horizontal axis (7), and the release element (5) is link- connected to the lock means (4).
