Abstract

The clamp mechanism (30) for gripping a printed strip (4) in the event of a failure such as a break or tear comprises a cylinder (3), two roller elements (6) and a clamp (2) to pinch the strip. At the same time an automatic cutter (15) is operated by an fluid-controlled actuator (17) to cut through the strip. During normal operation the roller elements (6) interact with roller (3) and form a traction system for the strip, with the pinching clamp located between them.
