Abstract

UV fluorescence energy content or intensity is linked to the pinosylvin content of the wood material in order to measure its rot resistance. A quality analysis method for wood material involves exposing at least one surface of the material to UV material and then detecting the resulting fluorescence. Quantitative detection of the fluorescence is carried out by measuring the energy content or intensity, then linking this to the pinosylvin content, in order to measure rot resistance of the wood material.
