Abstract
The floor unit (10), generally rectangular in shape, has a glued multi-layer top panel (11) comprising two longitudinally grained sheets (14,16) with a cross grained middle sheet (15). The glued supporting joists (17) may be lightened with cut-outs (17). Bottom flanges are formed with added battens (18) leaving recesses (12) under the joists. The cavities (13) may be filled with an insulating material, and a lower ceiling panel suspended by leaf springs in the recesses (12).
