Abstract

This invention is a process in connection with drying wood in a drying chamber with the help of warmed dryer air which is circulated though one or more stacks of wood. In order to even out moisture distribution in the wood and to achieve tension free and straight wood, a conditioning is carried out after the actual drying process, during which the climate in the chamber is regulated in accordance with a specially devised schedule. The conditioning schedule includes one or more cycles, where each cycle includes its own moisture-equalisation-and drying phase. The schedule structure is formed through simulation techniques, so that effective conditioning is attained without the risk for internal fissures in the wood.<IMAGE>
