Abstract

FIELD: gas-turbine engines. SUBSTANCE: while engine is running, air goes from its compressor to supercharge chamber 4 wherefrom it flows on one side through labyrinth gland 6 to gas-air channel 5 and on other side arrives at breather chamber 3 through labyrinth gland 7. Small amount of air entering breather chamber 3 goes to oil space. Main portion of air is expelled from breather chamber 3 through constant-drop valve 9 into the atmosphere. pressure in breather chamber 3 is always lower than in supercharge chamber 4 and is ensured by adjustment of valve 9. EFFECT: reduced amount of high-pressure air ingress in oil space and its discharge through breather which reduces oil consumption.

Claims (1)

The oil seal of the gas turbine engine support touches the shaft seal of the support and performs the task of drastically reducing the ingress of high pressure air into the oil cavity and, as a result, reducing oil emissions through the venting cavity, reducing oil consumption and eliminating oil starvation. During the operation of the gas turbine engine, air from the engine compressor enters the boost chamber, from where, on the one hand, through the labyrinth seal flows into the gas-air duct, and on the other hand, through the labyrinth seal, a small amount of air entering the venting chamber passes into the oil cavity. The bulk of the air is discharged from the venting chamber through a constant differential valve into the atmosphere. The pressure in the vent chamber is always less than the pressure in the boost chamber and is ensured by the setting of a constant differential valve.
