The method relates to foundry production, in particular to methods for separating slag from metal in a stop bucket at the end of casting metal into molds. The goal is to prevent slag from entering the molds, reducing metal losses. This goal is achieved by the fact that on the surface of the molten metal in the stopper bucket is placed refractory (refractories) of the correct form with a mass of 3-4 g / cm 3 . Floating refractory is located under a layer of liquid slag and at the end of metal casting cuts off the slag in the ladle, excluding the ingress of slag into the forms. The most appropriate use of refractory ball form.
