The electrostatic precipitator refers to the means of electrostatic cleaning of waste gases from dust particles and can be applied in the power industry, metallurgy, the building materials industry, as well as in other industries to clean waste gases from process dust. The technical result is that the charging grating in the electrostatic precipitator creates an electric field with a minimal gradient over the entire working area and a relatively high transverse length, which results in maximum completeness of recharging and charging of dust particles when passing through this field. In addition, the turbulence of the flow of exhaust gas with dust particles in the process of passing through the charging grate and forming cross-flow opposite with higher speed and frequency of dust particles colliding with each other increases, which leads to sticking (coagulation) of particles and increasing their size which increases the likelihood of their retention on the precipitation electrodes and reduces re-entrainment. To achieve a technical result in an electrostatic precipitator comprising a housing, corona and collecting electrodes installed alternating between them along the gas flow and charging grids installed in front of the electrodes across the gas flow, the charging grid comprises at least two layers of the grid, the grids are set with the cells offset relative to each other.
