The invention relates to the field of sorption technologies and can be used to restore the properties of carbon adsorbents and their reuse in production. A method of regenerating active carbon is proposed, including pretreatment with a stream of flue gases to a temperature of 500–600 ° C with a lifting rate of 15–25 degrees min. 10 grad.min, while as the oxidizing gas serves water vapor in the amount of 5 - 15 kg per 1 kg of coal. The use of the proposed method of regenerating active carbons allows not only to return spent sorbents into production, but also to increase their adsorption capacity for a number of organic solvents.
