The following basic requirements are imposed on technical solutions for the regeneration of ion exchange resin in a filter: to ensure the maximum degree of regeneration of ion exchange resin with a minimum consumption of reagents and the amount of waste (regenerates) received. The first two requirements are solved by the use of countercurrent regeneration of ion exchangers. The latter is especially true when these wastes are further processed or disposed of.
A known installation with countercurrent regeneration of ion exchangers according to the APCORE type regeneration method (US Pat. RF No. 2241542, 09/05/03, IPC B 01 J 49/00), consisting of an ion exchange filter having two drainage distribution systems at the top and bottom, filled with 85- 95% ion exchanger and floating inert material and equipped with a system of valves that provide a sequential supply of the solution to be cleaned in the ion exchanger from top to bottom, and countercurrent from bottom to top, at a high speed, then a regenerating agent and washing water with less at the highest speed and final washing of the ion exchanger from top to bottom. The entire regeneration solution is recycled.
The disadvantage of this installation is the large volume of discharged regenerate with a low concentration.
The closest technical solution selected for the prototype is the installation of countercurrent regeneration of ion exchangers with fractionation
И. Е. С.Дьяков, Ионообменное оборудование атомной промышленности, М., Энергоатомиздат, 1987 с.115) Такая установка позволяет сократить объем отходов и повысить их концентрацию в 2-4 раза по сравнению с традиционной регенерацией.a regenerate consisting of an ion-exchange filter, a system of storage tanks and pipelines with shut-off valves, which provide sequential passage through the filter of the solution to be cleaned from top to bottom, regeneration solution and wash water in the counter-current direction - from bottom to top, with a discharge for further processing of the first portion of the regenerate, collecting the second portion of the regenerate and the first portion of the wash water in special tanks from which they are reused after re-fortification with reagent (E.I. Zakharov, B.E. Ryabchikov, V.S. Dyakov, Ion-exchange equipment of the nuclear industry, M., Energoatomizdat, 1987 p.115) Such an installation allows reducing the volume of waste and increasing its concentration by 2-4 times in comparison with traditional regeneration.
The disadvantages of this installation are the bulkiness of the equipment used, a large number of shutoff valves, which causes control complexity and automation difficulty.
The task to which the proposed utility model is directed is to create a plant using equipment of small volume with a minimum amount of shutoff valves and ensuring efficient regeneration of ion exchangers with a minimum amount of waste.
This object is achieved in that the installation with countercurrent regeneration of the ion-exchange filter consists of a storage tank for the initial solution, an ion-exchange counter-current filter equipped with nozzles, to which pipelines with valves are connected, which allow the sequential transmission of the initial solution through the filter and in the countercurrent direction of the regenerating solution and washing water, and the lower and upper and salinometers are installed on the nozzles, two valves are located below and above the filter, which they are connected by pipelines with a storage tank for the initial solution, the upper salinometer being connected to the wash solution return valve and the regenerate dispensing valve, and the lower salinometer is connected to the washing solution return valve and the purified solution dispensing valve by control lines with the possibility of opening the valves in antiphase.
In a particular embodiment, a pneumatic or electric line is used as a control line.

Figure 2 shows the nature of changes in salinity at the outlet of the filter with a diameter of 700 mm during regeneration.
The proposed installation works as follows.
When cleaning the initial solution, for example, LRW solution is pumped 2 through valve 3 into filter 5, passing it from top to bottom through a layer of ion exchanger 14 filling the filter by about 80-90%. Above the ion exchanger, an inert loading layer floats above, protecting the upper drainage-distributing device 13 from clogging with ionite particles. After the ion exchanger is saturated, washing water is supplied from below through the valve 7 at high speed, which launches the ion exchanger from suspensions and raises its layer up. A wash solution having a salinity corresponding to the wash or feed water is discharged through valve 4 into the storage tank for the initial solution 1. Then, a regenerating solution is introduced from below sequentially through valve 8 and wash water through valve 4. The first portions of the solution leaving the filter are inter-pore water and have a salt content close to the wash water or to the initial solution, as can be seen from the initial portion of the curve in figure 2. Then, the salinity of the regenerate increases sharply, and when the set value is reached by the signal of the upper saline gauge 11, the valve 4 closes, and the valve 12 opens and the regenerate is supplied to the collection tank. After passing through the main volume of the regenerate, its salinity decreases sharply, and when a threshold value exceeds 1.5-10 values of the salinity of the initial solution, the valve 12 closes at the signal of the upper salinometer 11, and valve 4 reopens and wash water with a slight salinity is returned to the head process. The final washing of the ion exchanger is carried out. the initial solution from top to bottom, and while the salt content of the washing solution exceeds 1.5-10 values of the salt content of the initial solution by the signal of the lower salinometer 10, valve 9 closes, and valve 6 opens and the washing water is returned to the head
After the final washing of the ion exchanger at the signal of the lower salinometer 10, the valve 6 closes, and the valve 9 opens and the purified solution is supplied for further processing.
Examples of the proposed utility model.
Example 1. The prototype. At the Moscow liquid radioactive waste processing station, an ion exchange unit with counterflow filters is used, the regeneration of which is carried out by dividing the regenerate into separate fractions collected each in 2 containers, in this case into two fractions. The first, most concentrated, is then sent for processing. Similarly, wash water is collected in two containers. The remaining low-salt wash water, necessary for deeper washing of the resin, is returned to the head of the process.
At the next regeneration, the second fraction from the previous regeneration from the first tank, which was added to the predetermined concentration with the reagent, which is then collected in the second tank, is used as the first fraction of the regenerating solution. The second part of the regenerating solution becomes the first fraction of the wash water from the tank, also replenished with a reagent. As the first portion of the wash water, a second fraction of the wash water from the tank is used, then collected in the tank. Subsequent washing is carried out with demineralized or industrial water from the network.
This scheme, used for more than 40 years, can reduce the total volume of acid and alkaline regenerates to 1.5-2%, which is especially important in this case, when they are subjected to further processing and disposal.
2.Example 2
The ion-exchange installation shown in Fig. 1 has a counter-current filter with a diameter of 700 mm, a cation exchanger volume of 680 L, equipped with a controlled valve system 1-7, which provide sequential passage through the filter of purified LRW, regenerating solution and washing water, in the APCORE regeneration mode, at the outlet pipes which are installed salimeter (conductometers) 10 and 11 with the ability to set the level of inclusion of the output relay.
When cleaning, LRW is passed from top to bottom through a layer of ion exchanger in the Na form. The volume of purified water is 180-210 m 3 . After saturation of the ion exchanger from below, washing water is supplied at high speed through valve 7, which washes the ion exchanger from suspensions and raises its layer up. A washing solution having a salinity corresponding to the washing or source water is discharged through valve 4 into the special sewage system and returned to the source LRW tank. Then, a regenerating solution is introduced from below from below through valve 8 and washing water through valve 7. The first portions of the solution leaving the filter are inter-pore water and have a salinity close to the source water. Then, the salt content of the regenerate is sharply increased (see Figure 2) and when the set value of 1-5 g / l is reached by the signal of the salimeter 11, the valve 4 closes, and 12 opens and the regenerate is fed into the capacity of LRW concentrates. After passing through the main volume of the regenerate, its salt content sharply decreases and when a threshold value of 1-5 g / l is reached, valve 4 closes at the signal of salinometer 11, valve 12 opens and washing water with a slight salinity is returned to the process head. The final washing of the ion exchanger is carried out with the initial solution from top to bottom. While the salt content of the wash solution exceeds 1-5 g / l, which corresponds to 3-10 values of the salt content of the source water at the signal of salinometer 10, valve 9 closes, valve 6 opens and the wash water is returned to the process head. After the final washing of the ion exchanger by the signal of salinometer 10, valve 6 closes, and valve 9 opens and the purified solution is supplied for further processing.
Figure 2 shows that the volume of concentrated concentrated regenerate is approximately 900 l, which is only 1.3 of the volume of the ion exchanger in the filter or 0.43% of the volume of purified LRW. During testing and operation of such a plant, it was shown that the volume of regenerate recovered for processing is not more than 0.4-1.0% of the volume of purified solution with a sharp reduction in the number of equipment used, production areas, the number of valves and fully automatic control of the plant.
