Abstract
Description
The invention relates to light-emitting devices that can be used, for example, in electronic devices such as household appliances, stereo equipment, data communication products, for keypads of specialized displays. In addition, it can be used in medical instruments and lighting products.
A light emitting device is known, comprising: at least one LED configured to emit light; and a phosphor configured to change the wavelength of the light, the phosphor substantially covering at least a portion of the LED; while the phosphor contains aluminate containing lead and/or copper, silicate containing lead and/or copper, antimonate containing lead and/or copper, germanate containing lead and/or copper, germanate-silicate containing lead and/or copper , a phosphate containing lead and/or copper, or any combination thereof (patent RU 2359352, IPC H01L 33/00, 2009).
However, the known light-emitting device has a number of disadvantages, namely, along with a rather complex design, the presence in the emission spectrum of a wide red band with a half-width of up to 200 nm worsens the purity of red light, in addition, the shift of the maximum of the red emission band occurs only when different compositions of the phosphor are varied.
Thus, the authors were faced with the task of developing a light-emitting device of a simple design that improves the purity of red light and the possibility of smoothly shifting the maximum of the red emission band without changing the composition of the phosphor.
The problem is solved in the proposed design of a light-emitting device containing a light-emitting diode made with the possibility of contacting with a power source, a silicate-based phosphor made with the possibility of changing the wavelength of light and covering the surface area of the light-emitting diode, in which the output hole of the laser light-emitting diode, covered with optically transparent adhesive tape , the powder of the up-conversion phosphor composition Sr 2 Y (8-х-y) Yb x Er y Si 6 O 26 (x = 0.05-1.0, y = 0.01-0.20) is evenly applied at the rate of 5-10 mg/cm 2 , isolated from the external environment with optically transparent adhesive tape.
Currently, no light-emitting device is known from the patent and scientific and technical literature, the design of which combines a laser LED and an up-conversion phosphor based on a complex silicate.
As studies conducted by the author have shown, the operation of the proposed light-emitting device provides a high degree of purity of red light and a smooth shift of the maximum of the red emission band without changing the composition of the phosphor, which is explained by the properties of the aluminophore used in the design (RU 2626020), which were identified by the authors. Thus, the change in the values of the wavelengths of the red radiation of the proposed phosphor when it is excited by a laser with a wavelength of 980 nm is observed when the power (P) of the exciting radiation changes in the range of 20-99 mW. Due to a change in the pump power, the populations of the 4 F 9/2 level of Er 3+ ions change with the participation of phosphor crystal lattice phonons, which causes a shift in the red emission band and variations in the luminescence intensity. An analysis of the up-conversion photoluminescence spectra showed that when the power exceeds 20–99 mW, the red radiation wavelength does not shift due to a decrease in the number of phonons involved in the process of excitation of the 4 F 9/2 level of Er 3+ ions. From Fig.1 it can be seen that when the laser pump power is changed from 99 to 20 mW, the emission band of the 4 F 9/2 → 4 I 15/2 transition is shifted with a maximum from 677 to 617 nm.
In FIG. Figure 1 shows the characteristic up-conversion spectra of the Sr 2 Y 6.8 Yb 1 Er 0.2 Si 6 O 26 phosphor at different excitation powers.
(4).In FIG. 2 is a sectional side view of the device according to the invention. The device contains a laser LED (1) equipped with three legs I, II, III, designed to connect to a current source and control (regulate or limit) the laser current; the output hole of the laser LED (1) is covered with the adhesive side of the optically transparent adhesive tape (2), on the opposite side of the adhesive tape, the powder of the up-conversion phosphor (3) of the composition Sr 2 Y (8-x-y) Yb x Er y Si 6 O 26 is evenly applied (x = 0.05-1.0, y = 0.01-0.20) at the rate of 5-10 mg/ cm2 , isolated from the environment with optically transparent tape (4).
The proposed light-emitting device works as follows. The minus and plus of a 3 volt power source are connected to the legs I and III of the laser LED. A driver (LDTC brand) is used as a DC power supply. Leg II is non-working. When the power supply is turned on, laser radiation (980 nm) excites an up-conversion phosphor, which emits a red glow. By changing the driver current, you can change the power of the diode. As a result of changing the power from 99 to 20 mW, the red emission band shifts with a maximum from 677 to 617 nm.
Thus, the author proposes a light-emitting device of a simple design, which provides an improvement in the purity of red light and the possibility of a smooth shift of the maximum of the red emission band without changing the composition of the phosphor.
