Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a sealing mixture intended for sealing process equipment, including process furnaces and boiler equipment, in the oil refining and petrochemical industries.
One of the problems in the operation of process furnaces and boiler equipment used in the oil refining and petrochemical industries is the presence of unorganized air suction into the furnace body, at the joints of the outer casing of process furnaces, as well as holes at the inlets / exits of process pipelines into the furnace body and from furnace body.
Unorganized suction of atmospheric air into the furnace is inevitable in the presence of leaks, since technological furnaces operate under vacuum. Outside air enters the furnace through leaks and lowers the temperature of the working gas medium inside the furnace, resulting in an increase in fuel consumption to maintain the technological regime. To reduce the penetration of outside air, it is necessary to eliminate the places of unorganized air suction into the furnace.
The most common system for connecting and sealing process furnaces is the use of asbestos cords and gaskets. However, the application of this method is not always possible on a working furnace and in some cases it may be necessary to stop the process. In addition, a significant part of the holes has a complex profile and small size, which makes it impossible to seal them with asbestos cord and other similar seals.
Sealing process equipment using traditional methods often leads to loosening of threaded connections on equipment flanges and requires constant mechanical tightening of threaded connections. When such connections are loosened, the product leaks into the environment, which can lead to an emergency shutdown of the equipment, as well as corrosion of metal connections. It is not always possible to pull the threaded connections of the equipment in a timely manner due to high surface temperatures, since the possibility of getting a burn injury by the personnel performing the repair work is not ruled out.
