Abstract
Description
п.The proposed technical solution relates to high-explosive fragmentation ammunition and can be used for the manufacture of fragmentation warheads (warheads) of various calibers - artillery shells, missile warheads, hand and rifle grenades, mines, etc.
[US №5157225].A controlled fragmentation explosive device is known, made in the form of a single-piece tubular body with a grid of corrugations on the outer and inner surfaces, formed by annular grooves and longitudinal grooves of a triangular profile, creating many fragments, the size and shape of which is determined by the thickness of the shell and the pitch between the grooves [US No. 5157225 ].
The disadvantages of this design are the complexity of manufacturing a solid body with a grid of corrugations, the presence of "dead" zones in the radius of destruction, due to the scattering of fragments along the height of the fragmentation element mainly in one direction, formed by longitudinal grooves on its surface.
[DE №3624330].A well-known design fragmentation element of the auxiliary projectile with a hollow charge, made in the form of a helix winding from a metal rod or tape profile, which is made with a given step of the corrugation used in a high-explosive fragmentation warhead [DE No. 3624330].
The disadvantage of this design is the difficulty of mating the striking element with the end parts of the carrier body, reducing the size and mass of fragments on the last turn of the spiral at both ends, which reduces the effectiveness of the defeat. In addition, to complete fragmentation warheads of the same caliber, but of different lengths and power, it is necessary to cut off a piece of a spiral of the appropriate length, forming unused waste.
[BY №22673].As a prototype, the design of warheads with striking elements of a given crushing, made in the form of steel rings of rectangular cross section, which contains grooves on the inner surface formed by grooves parallel to the axis of the said ring, is selected, moreover, the rings are made with a heterogeneous structure with a density and hardness of the surface layer greater than density and hardness of the core and a height not less than the thickness of the rings [BY No. 22673].
The disadvantage of the prototype is the insufficient density of fragments and, accordingly, the effectiveness of the defeat, tk. an increase in the number of fragments due to the more frequent application of forming corrugations leads to a decrease in the weight of individual fragments and a decrease in their damaging effect. Insufficient penetrating ability of the resulting fragments, low efficiency of use.
The objective of the invention is to increase the field density of the resulting fragments, their speed, increase the range of expansion.
The problem of the invention is solved as follows. A high-explosive fragmentation warhead (HEF) is known, made in the form of a set of steel inner rings of rectangular cross section, which contain grooves on the inner surface formed by grooves parallel to the axis of the mentioned ring, and the explosive is placed inside the set of rings. Moreover, it additionally contains a set of steel outer rings of rectangular section, which are coaxially mounted on the outer surface of the inner rings with a gap of 0.05-1.25 mm; which are made with a heterogeneous structure with a density and hardness of the surface layer greater than the density and hardness of the inner rings, and a height not less than the thickness of the inner rings; while the outer rings also contain corrugations on the inner surface, formed by grooves commensurate with the grooves of the inner ring, parallel to the axis of the outer rings, and the thickness of the outer rings is commensurate with the thickness of the inner rings.
The use of the outer ring makes it possible to increase the number of fragments formed without losing their mass. An additional layer of outer rings increases the accuracy of fragments in the fragmentation field, thereby increasing the effectiveness of the defeat. The proportionality of the dimensions, cross-sections of the rings, the corrugation on them forms fragments of similar dimensions and masses of similar ballistic characteristics.
A special case of the design is the OFBCH, which additionally contains a tubular body, the inner cavity of which is filled with explosive, on which at least one package of inner rings is placed, which are installed on it with a gap of 0.05-1.25 mm, the tubular body on the outer surface is made with annular grooves and longitudinal grooves, commensurate profile and depth with the grooves on the said rings, forming fragments commensurate with the corrugations on the rings.
Additionally, the tubular body of the warhead increases the safety of assembling explosive ammunition and increases the density of the resulting fragments in the fragmentation field. The commensurability of fragments of the warhead with the corrugations on the rings gives the similarity of their ballistic character.
A special case of design is the OFBCH rings of which are made by pressing and sintering a composite charge based on iron powder with the addition of carbon and alloying elements, followed by calibration of the compact to a density of 6.8 to 7.2 g/cm 3 , and the outer ring has a density of 5-15% higher than domestic. The delay in the destruction of the outer ring provides a higher speed of expansion of the fragments formed from it than the speed of expansion of the fragments of the inner ring. This increases the range of expansion, the speed and penetration of fragments of the outer ring, as well as the density of fragments in the fragmentation field.
A special case of the design is the OFBCH, the grooves of which are made with a depth of 0.3 to 0.5 of the thickness of the corresponding ring, with an opening angle to the inner surface of the ring from 20 to 38° and an angle between the grooves from 10 to 20°. In the case of a groove opening angle of less than 20°, due to the increased stress concentration at such an acute angle, the ring will also break into fragments at a lower detonation pressure. The angle between the grooves a, forming the grooves of 10-20°, with the main calibers of the ammunition, determines the dimensions and mass of the fragments formed during the break, optimized for these parameters, as well as for the speed and range of expansion to the tasks of a particular application. If the angle between the grooves a is less than 10°, then the dimensions, mass, damage radius and penetrating power of the formed fragments will be less than the calculated ones due to the insufficient surface area affected by the detonation pressure. If the angle between the grooves a is greater than 20°, then the dimensions and mass of the formed fragments will be overestimated, which will lead to a rapid deceleration of their expansion, failure to achieve the planned damage radius and, moreover, penetrating ability.
A special case of the design is the OFBCH, the initial composite charge of the rings of which is made on the basis of iron powder with a bidisperse composition, while the particle size of the fine fraction (dl) and coarse fraction (db) is selected in the following dependence dl = 0.2-0.225 db, with the ratio of the amount coarse and fine fractions of the charge of iron powder (wt.%) 9-10:1, which will bring the average density of rings and fragments from them closer to the upper limit - 7.2 g/cm 3 , thereby increasing both strength and hardness. Increasing the strength and hardness of the rings makes it possible to increase the penetration ability of the resulting fragments.
A special case of design is OFBCH rings, which are additionally vapor-oxidized and have a hardness of 150 to 260 HB, and the outer rings have a hardness 15-20% higher than the inner ones. Increasing the strength of the rings allows you to increase the penetrating ability of the resulting fragments. It also increases the range of expansion, speed and penetrating ability of fragments of the outer ring. This also increases the corrosion resistance of the rings.
Частным случаем конструктивного исполнения является ОФБЧ высота колец которой одинакова и составляет от 1,1 до 1,9 их толщины. При высоте кольца менее его толщины площадь поверхности, на которую воздействует давление детонации может оказаться недостаточной для разлома кольца точно по канавкам. Следовательно, и габариты, и масса, и количество осколков будут отличаться от расчетных, ниже будет по меньшей мере у части осколков скорость и дальность разлета, ниже и пробивная способность.A special case of the design is the OFBCH, the height of the rings of which is the same and ranges from 1.1 to 1.9 of their thickness. When the height of the ring is less than its thickness, the surface area affected by the detonation pressure may not be sufficient to break the ring exactly along the grooves. Consequently, both the dimensions, and the mass, and the number of fragments will differ from the calculated ones;
The essence of the technical solution is illustrated by drawings. In FIG. Figure 1 shows a general view of the assembled fragmentation elements (the explosive is inside the tubular body, not conventionally shown). Where 1 is the inner ring, 2 is the outer ring, 3 is the tubular body.
The implementation of the OFBCH from two rows of rings of different strength, but fragments of the same size provides a greater detonation pressure, with a slowdown, which ensures an increase in the expansion speed and density in the fragmentation field, the radius of damage and penetration, and thereby the efficiency of use.
The rings themselves have a heterogeneous structure - the density and hardness of the surface layer is higher than that of the core, which unequivocally increases penetration even in steel, and due to the increased surface hardness, it keeps the ring from being destroyed by detonation pressure at its greater value than in the case of a homogeneous soft ring microstructure. At the same time, it is obvious that the speed of fragmentation, the radius of damage and penetration will increase in comparison with a similar ring made of a homogeneous material.
The inner and outer rings can be made by pressing and sintering a composite charge based on iron powder with additions of carbon and alloying elements, followed by compaction calibration to a density of 6.8-7.2 g/cm 3 . This design makes it possible to simplify the production technology, increase productivity and form immediately before heat treatment or chemical-thermal treatment a heterogeneous structure of the ring with all its advantages described above.
The inner and outer rings can be steam-oxidized and have a hardness in the range of 150-260 HB. This design additionally increases the pressure of the destruction of the ring on the fragments during the formation of a heterogeneous structure and further increases the expansion rate, the radius of damage, penetration, etc. It also provides stable protection against corrosion.
The inner and outer rings can be made in such a way that their height is greater than the thickness and is in the range of 1.1-1.9. This design is guaranteed to break the ring with the design features of the claimed invention. At the same time, making the ratio more than 1.9 is impractical due to the fact that the dimensions and mass of the formed fragments with the planned application calibers will be overestimated, which will lead to a rapid deceleration of their expansion, failure to achieve the planned damage radius and, moreover, penetrating ability.
OFBCH equip as follows.
The
Field tests of the OFBCH were carried out. For comparison, a serial helical fragmentation element of the S-8 rocket was selected, which is outwardly identical in design and made of low-carbon steel 10. In addition, a set of rings was made, the outer and inner diameters of which are completely identical to the proposed design, the opening angle of the grooves to the inner surface of the rings was 15°, angle between grooves - 30°. The height of the rings is less than their thickness. The height of the set of rings according to the prototype corresponded to the diameter and height of the serial spiral element. The tests were also carried out using a set of rings made according to the proposed design, and the outer diameter of the inner rings and the height of the set corresponded to the diameter and height of the serial spiral element. Both the charge and the type of explosive were identical in all three cases. The tests were carried out on the same day under identical weather conditions and showed that the radius of continuous destruction of the spiral fragmentation element was about 10 m, the prototype - 15 m, and the OFBCH of the proposed design - 17-19 m. 17 m of two pine boards with a thickness of at least 25 mm each and retained their original shape after breaking through. A single fragment at a distance of 18 m provided a through penetration of a sheet of low-carbon hot-rolled
