Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to the field of producing carbon coatings, namely the formation of a coating on the surface of a solid, of arbitrary configuration, by deposition of pyrocarbon atoms from the gas phase. Such a coating can be used as a modifier of dispersed fillers of composite materials used in the space engineering industry to impart physicochemical properties (heat and electrical conductivity, affinity for a polymer composition), in the field of nanotechnology to obtain powders based on pyrocarbon.
М. Technology of growing of diamondfilms by the method of chemical vaporphase deposition. В. The essence of the method lies in the formation of atomic carbon in the gas phase in a stream of an inert gas by pyrolysis of organic compounds, such as methanol [Saliev T.M. Technology of growing of diamondfilms by the method of chemical vaporphase deposition. - 2009], ethanol [Kuzmenko A.P., Rodionov V.V. Deposition of pyrocarbon by CVD method on SiC fibers // Inorganic materials. - 2006. - T. 42. - No. 3. - S. 288-291] and others.
A common disadvantage of these methods is the long duration of the process, in which it is necessary both to maintain a high temperature, to supply an inert gas, and to maintain the pyrolysis of the carbon source.
р.].In industry, the coating of graphite particles with a pyrolytic carbon layer by pyrolysis of coal tar pitch followed by calcination at temperatures up to 3000 ° C is widely used [RU patent No. 2257341 C1, SU patent No. 551412 A1, RU patent No. 2013416 C1, RU patent No. 2064471 C1, etc. ].
14.04.2014].A known method of producing a coating using sulfate or sulfonated lignin instead of coal tar pitch, which does not contain free aromatic compounds in its mass [EP patent No. 3131848 B1, publ. 04/14/2014].
However, the replacement of raw materials solves environmental problems and does not solve technical problems, namely, the need to maintain high temperatures and use an inert gas with a long process duration.
-2014. -Т. 6. -№. 4. -С. 198-211].The closest technical solution is a method of obtaining a coating on a modifiable dispersed material by creating a sol with the subsequent formation of pyrocarbon from an organic polymer source (phenol-formaldehyde resin LBS-1), which is part of the sol. Pyrocarbon is formed at temperatures of about 1500-1600 ° C in an inert gas atmosphere and interacting with silicon contained in the ash in the form of organic structures, forms silicon carbide in the gas phase, followed by the formation of a solid [Sevastyanov, V.G. Obtaining whiskers of silicon carbide using the sol-gel method in the bulk of SiC-ceramics / V.G. Sevastyanov // Composites and nanostructures. -2014. -T. 6. -No. 4. -C. 198-211].
The main disadvantage of this method is the need to maintain high temperatures with a long process duration, as well as the need to create an additional medium from an inert gas.
The objective of the invention is to reduce the duration and energy consumption of the process, to simplify the method for obtaining a pyrocarbon coating on the surface of dispersed materials, to reject artificially created inert media.
The solution to this problem is achieved by the fact that the method for producing pyrocarbon coatings from guanidine derivatives, the formation of pyrocarbon coatings by organic compounds during the deposition of pyrocarbon from the gas phase, according to the invention, aromatic and aliphatic energy-intensive guanidine derivatives are used as the initial organic compound, which are mixed with dispersed material, with their subsequent sharp heating to 300 ° C, at which the process of decomposition of guanidine derivatives is started with the formation of a pyrocarbon coating on the surface of the dispersed material.
The method differs from the closest analogue in that aromatic and aliphatic energy-intensive guanidine derivatives are used as a source of pyrocarbon. In addition to the function of a pyrolytic carbon source, energy-intensive guanidine derivatives, upon thermal decomposition, which starts when heated to 300 ° C, realize their energy potential, act as an additional source of energy, thereby reducing energy costs and shortening the process time due to a local increase in temperature directly in the formation zone pyrocarbon, which significantly reduces the time required for the formation of a pyrocarbon coating.
Also, during thermal decomposition, significant volumes of gases are released, acting as an inert medium due to the formation of molecular nitrogen, which makes it possible to abandon the artificial creation of an inert medium. This simplifies the technology and allows the use of non-sealed chambers to obtain a pyrocarbon coating on the surface of the dispersed material.
Obtaining a pyrocarbon coating is carried out in several operations, namely: mixing with dispersed material, on which it is necessary to obtain a pyrocarbon coating, heating the mixture to a temperature of no more than 300 ° C and the beginning of thermal decomposition of organic compounds, if necessary, followed by mechanical processing of the obtained dispersed material with pyrocarbon coating.
FIG. 1 shows the structures of guanidine derivatives that can be used to prepare pyrocarbon. Where the organic substituent R can be an aromatic or aliphatic hydrocarbon, substituent X is a nitro group and the substituent R 1 can be an aromatic or aliphatic hydrocarbon or a nitro group.
FIG. 2 shows a comparison of fragments of the IR spectra illustrating the signals of pyrocarbon on a silicon carbide substrate. It can be seen from them that the organic structures have completely decomposed, and the resulting pyrocarbon has formed many different carbon structures on the surface of silicon carbide. A comparison of the initial, unmodified silicon carbide (item 1) and silicon carbide modified by a pyrocarbon coating formed during the decomposition of ethylnitroguanidine (item 2) and a mixture of benzylnitroguanidine with ethylnitroguanidine (item 3) is presented, as can be seen when comparing the spectra in the range 1000-1800 cm -1 after surface modification, multiple signatures appeared, corresponding to different carbon structures. The silicon carbide signal in the region of 800 cm -1 was chosen as a comparison point; in this case, silicon carbide acted as a modified body.
The method for producing pyrocarbon coatings from energy-intensive guanidine derivatives is characterized by the following examples.
Example 1. A mixture of guanidines weighing 1 gram, namely benzylnitroguanidine with ethylnitroguanidine in a ratio of 1 to 1 by weight, was mixed with 0.5 grams of nanosized silicon carbide in a crucible and placed in an unsealed metal chamber, followed by sharp heating at 25 ° C / min for 10 minutes (no more than 300 ° C). The resulting material, extracted from the crucible and representing a porous carbon ceramic with large pores, was subjected to mechanical treatment to destroy fragile carbon structures by grinding in a mortar. This is how a silicon carbide powder with a pyrocarbon modified surface was obtained.
Example 2. A mixture of guanidines weighing 1 gram, namely benzylnitroguanidine with methylnitroguanidine in a ratio of 1 to 1 by weight, was mixed with 0.5 grams of nanosized silicon carbide in a crucible, placed in an unsealed metal chamber, followed by sharp heating at 25 ° C / min for 10 minutes (no more than 300 ° C) The resulting material, extracted from the crucible and representing a porous carbon ceramic with large pores, was subjected to mechanical treatment to destroy fragile carbon structures by grinding in a mortar. Thus, a silicon carbide powder with a surface modified with pyrocarbon was obtained.
Example 3. A mixture of 1 gram of ethyl nitroguanidine with 0.5 grams of silicon carbide in a crucible was placed in an unsealed metal chamber, followed by a sharp heating of 25 ° C / min (no more than 300 ° C). Instead of porous carbon ceramics, a silicon carbide powder with a pyrocarbon modified surface was obtained.
The effectiveness of the invention lies in reducing the duration and energy intensity of the process, due to the use of energy-intensive derivatives of guanidine, which, upon thermal decomposition after heating to 300 ° C, along with the formation of pyrocarbon, release energy in the form of heat. Simplification of the method for obtaining a pyrocarbon coating is achieved by rejecting the artificial creation of an inert medium, since the inert medium is formed by molecular nitrogen released during the thermal decomposition of guanidine derivatives.
