Abstract
Description
The invention relates to the field of high-temperature electrochemistry and can be used in the manufacture of solar cells from monocrystalline silicon wafers made by the Czochralski method.
The energy problem today is one of the most pressing for all mankind. Traditional sources such as oil, gas and other minerals are gradually losing their relevance, becoming more expensive and, of course, causing great harm to the environment. That is why solar cells are becoming popular, consisting of photocells that convert the energy potential of photons into electrical energy. Crystalline silicon is the most common material for making solar cells.
The most effective type of solar cell elements are monocrystalline silicon panels, which are made according to the Czochralski method [1]. The single crystal obtained in this way is cut into thin plates and then the plates are mechanically ground and polished, after which a thin layer of ultrapure silicon is applied to one of the surfaces by the epitaxial method from the gas phase [2]. The strength of the electric current that a solar cell can generate varies in proportion to the number of photons captured by its surface. This indicator, in turn, depends on the specific area and surface structure of the photocell. However, at present, the efficiency of solar cells, including batteries made of silicon panels manufactured by the Czochralski method, does not exceed 15-20%. Therefore, there is an acute issue of increasing their efficiency.
The objective of the invention is to increase the efficiency of solar cells containing monocrystalline silicon panels made by the Czochralski method.
For this, an electrochemical method for processing silicon wafers for solar cells has been proposed, including cathodic polarization of a silicon wafer made by the Czochralski method, for this, a silicon wafer is placed in a K 2 WO 4 - Na 2 WO 4 - WO 3 melt and a cathode potentiostatic pulse of magnitude from -920 to -1020 mV relative to the platinum-oxygen reference electrode.
As a result of the action of this pulse, the morphology of the surface of the silicon wafer changes: structures in the form of pyramids and pyramidal pits are observed on it, as well as an increase in the specific surface area. Such a surface makes it possible to increase the photocurrent flowing through a monocrystalline silicon wafer made by the Czochralski method up to five times while maintaining the geometric dimensions of this wafer.
A new technical result achieved by the claimed method consists in increasing the specific photocurrent flowing through a monocrystalline silicon wafer made by the Czochralski method, while maintaining its geometric dimensions.

Nova 1.9.Experimental verification of the claimed method was carried out as follows. The electrochemical treatment of the original silicon wafer (Manufacturer PJSC Saturn, Krasnodar, Russia) was carried out in a three-electrode cell using a pulsed potentiostatic mode. The anode was a platinum wire, the reference electrode was a platinum foil with an area of 1 cm 2 , semi-submerged into the melt, and the cathode was a silicon wafer being processed. The container was a platinum crucible. The process temperature was kept constant at 700 ° C. For the experiment, the electrochemical cell was placed in a shaft furnace, the temperature in which was maintained using a Varta TP 703 thermostat. Near the electrodes (in the electrolyte), the temperature was measured using a platinum-platinum-rhodium thermocouple. Electrodeposition was performed using an Autolab PGSTAT302N potentiostat-galvanostat (Metrohm, Netherlands) with the Nova 1.9 software.
At the end of the experiment, the cathode precipitate was washed in an alkaline solution (10 wt% KOH) at room temperature, then washed with distilled water and alcohol. The morphology of the sediments was studied using a JSM-5900 LV electron microscope (Jeol, Japan). The total specific surface area was measured using the multipoint BET method. The amount of photocurrent flowing through the plate electrochemically treated as described above was measured using a three-electrode scheme in 1M KNO 3 using a ZiveLAB SP2 electrochemical station. A processed silicon plate was used as a working electrode, a graphite rod was used as a counter electrode, and a silver chloride electrode was used as a reference electrode. The measurements were carried out in the mode of potentiostatic potential sweep into the cathode region at a rate of 10 mV / s. The light source was a UV lamp with an electric power of 25 W and a wavelength of 365 nm.
