Abstract
Description
The invention relates to the field of metallurgy, in particular, to high-strength alloyed anti-friction cast irons for cast parts of a cylinder-piston engine group operating under friction in gaseous media.
Known high-strength alloyed anti-friction cast iron AChV-2 (GOST 1585-85). This cast iron has a pearlite-ferrite structure in castings, a low limit mode of operation under friction conditions (3-12 MPa⋅m / s) and insufficient characteristics of endurance limit (150-170 MPa), hardness (167-197 HB), wear resistance and operational resistance to friction in gas environments.
Also known is high-strength alloyed cast iron for castings with special properties of ChNDHMSh (GOST 7769-82, table 2, p. 4). It has high strength (not less than 600 MPa), but is characterized by low antifriction and elastic-plastic properties. This nodular cast iron has insufficient toughness (21-30 J / cm 2 ). Cast parts from this cast iron do not provide long-term operational stability during friction in gaseous media.
%:The closest in technical essence and the achieved effect to the proposed one is high-strength alloyed anti-friction cast iron (Patent RU No. 2611624, C 22 C 37/10, 2017, prototype) of the following chemical composition, wt. %:
Mechanical and operational properties of famous cast iron:
Known cast iron contains an insufficient amount of alloying elements and has insufficient elastic-plastic, anti-friction and operational properties. A disadvantage of the known cast iron is the low characteristics of the corrosion fatigue limit in gaseous media, fracture toughness, and ultimate friction mode of operation.
The objective of the invention is to increase the limit of corrosion fatigue of cast iron in gaseous media and the limit mode of operation during friction and reduce the coefficient of friction.
%:The problem is solved in that high-strength alloyed antifriction cast iron containing carbon, silicon, manganese, nickel, molybdenum, copper, chromium, magnesium, cerium, vanadium, titanium, barium, boron and iron, additionally contains zirconium and tin in the following ratio of components, wt. %:
Significant differences of the proposed cast iron are the additional introduction into its composition of an effective alloying component - zirconium, a perlating additive - tin and an increase in the content of alloying and austenitizing components (molybdenum 1.2-2.5, vanadium 0.52-1.15 and nickel 2.0 -3.6), which significantly increases the dispersion and stability of the structure, wear resistance, endurance limit, antifriction properties and the limit of corrosion fatigue of cast iron in gaseous media.
The analysis of the proposed technical solution showed that at the moment there are no known technical solutions that would reflect these differences. In addition, they are necessary and sufficient to achieve the positive effect indicated in the objective of the invention. This allows us to conclude that these differences are significant.
The additional introduction of zirconium 0.05-0.12 is due to the fact that it is an effective graphitizing, hardening and microalloying additive that increases the stability, uniformity and dispersion of the structure, the limit of corrosion fatigue in gaseous media, the endurance limit, the antifriction and elastic-plastic properties of cast iron. When the zirconium content is up to 0.05%, wear resistance, endurance and antifriction properties are insufficient. And with an increase in its concentration of more than 0.12%, the heterogeneity of the structure, residual thermal stresses increase, and the characteristics of operational resistance, impact resistance, and elastic-plastic properties decrease.
Tin is introduced in an amount of 0.002-0.005% as a perlite additive that increases the dispersion of the structure and provides an increase in the endurance limit. When the tin content is less than 0.002%, its perlite ability, uniformity and dispersion of the structure are reduced, and with an increase in tin content of more than 0.005%, the plastic and antifriction properties and wear resistance decrease
A decrease in the concentration of manganese to 0.3-0.7% is due to its high effect on the crack resistance of cast iron, a decrease in its technological and antifriction properties. With an increase in the concentration of manganese over 0.7%, the endurance limit, wear resistance, and crack resistance decrease, and with a decrease in the concentration of manganese less than 0.3%, the content of free graphite in the structure increases, which reduces the mechanical and operational characteristics of cast iron.
Titanium is introduced as a graphitizing and microalloying additive that increases the dispersion of the structure and the content of perlite and graphite in it and provides an increase in wear resistance, endurance limit, stability of the friction coefficient and operational properties of cast iron in castings. When its content is less than 0.03%, the graphitizing and microalloying effects are reduced, and the stability of the structure and antifriction properties are insufficient, and when the content is more than 0.22%, the endurance limit, wear resistance, and crack resistance are reduced.
Barium in the amount of 0.03-0.06% modifies the melt and cleans the grain boundaries, provides spheroidization of structural components and increased wear resistance and stability of antifriction properties. At a concentration of more than 0.06%, the endurance limit, wear resistance and mechanical properties are reduced, and with a barium content of up to 0.03%, the wear resistance and antifriction properties are insufficient.
The introduction of boron to 0.01-0.03% is due to the improvement and reduction of the heat treatment of cast iron, which significantly increases the stability, uniformity and dispersion of the structure, elastic-plastic properties. It reduces the coefficient of friction. At a concentration of less than 0.01%, the limit of corrosion fatigue, wear resistance and endurance are low, and with an increase in boron content of more than 0.03%, the plastic properties decrease, the friction coefficient increases.
The content of carbon (3.1-3.6%) and silicon (2.0-2.5%) is based on the experience in the production of high-strength antifriction cast irons for castings mainly with a fine-grained pearlite structure in a cast state, with high characteristics of mechanical properties, wear resistance and antifriction properties under friction. With increasing concentrations of carbon and silicon, respectively, above 3.6 and 2.5%, the content of ferrite and free graphite in the structure increases, which reduces the characteristics of strength, hardness, endurance, wear resistance and antifriction properties. With a decrease in their concentration, respectively, below 3.1 and 2.0%, the residual thermal stresses in the castings and the content of austenite and cementite in the structure increase, which reduces the limits of endurance and fluidity, crack resistance and impact resistance.
The content of magnesium, which is the main spheroidizing graphite modifying additive, is taken in an amount of 0.02-0.03% in order to increase wear resistance, endurance limit and reduce friction coefficient. When the magnesium content is reduced to 0.02%, spherical graphite does not form in the structure and the mechanical and antifriction properties are low. At a magnesium concentration of more than 0.03%, the stability and uniformity of the structure decrease, which increases the thermal stresses in the castings and reduces the characteristics of the endurance limit and antifriction properties.
The cerium content is increased to 0.03-0.05%, this contributes to an increase in antifriction properties and wear resistance and corresponds to concentrations according to generally accepted standards in engine manufacturing in the production of cast parts of the piston-cylinder group from high-strength cast iron with vermicular (compact) graphite. When the concentration of cerium is more than 0.05%, its irretrievable losses (fumes) increase, the heterogeneity of the structure and the mechanical properties of cast iron decrease.
Copper, nickel, molybdenum, vanadium and chromium are the main alloying components of high-strength cast irons, providing high strength characteristics, corrosion fatigue limits in gaseous media, wear resistance, endurance and fatigue limits, but having an ambiguous effect on the elastic-plastic and antifriction properties. Therefore, their concentration in the proposed cast iron is accepted taking into account their influence on these properties.
Copper is a perlitizing structure component that increases antifriction properties and endurance. With its content in an amount of from 0.6 to 1.5%, a significant increase in wear resistance, endurance and antifriction properties is provided. With a decrease in copper concentration of less than 0.6%, the antifriction properties are insufficient, and with an increase in its content of more than 1.5%, the characteristics of wear resistance and crack resistance decrease.
The nickel content in cast iron is increased to a concentration of 2.0-3.6%, since when the nickel concentration is less than 2.0%, the dispersion of the structure, endurance limit, and operational properties are insufficient. With a content of more than 3.6%, the antifriction and operational properties decrease, the heterogeneity of the structure, the tendency to cracks, and the instability of the friction coefficient increase.
Chromium in an amount of 0.02 to 0.06%, vanadium (0.52-1.15%) and molybdenum (1.2-2.5%) increase hardness, corrosion fatigue limit in gaseous media, endurance limit and wear resistance cast iron in castings. However, with an increase in the concentration of chromium, vanadium and molybdenum, respectively, more than 0.06%, 1.15% and 2.5%, the content of cementite and carbides in the structure increases and the antifriction and elastic-plastic properties in the castings decrease and the heat treatment mode is lengthened. When their concentration is less than the lower limits, the strength, the limit of corrosion fatigue in gaseous media, wear resistance and endurance limit are significantly reduced.
Pilot cast iron smelting is carried out in induction crucible furnaces using refined pig iron, steel scrap 1A, cast iron scrap 17A, nickel H3, copper M2, ferromanganese FMN 78, ferrovanadium FVd50U0.5, ferromolybdenum, tin, other ferrozirconium and ferrocyrrovanovite, ferrocyrrovanovite, and ferrotrozirconium, ferrocyrrovanovite, and ferrotirzironovanium, and ferrocyrvanovonium, ferrocyrrovanonium, and other ferrocyrvanovonium. Microalloying with nickel, copper, ferrozirconium, ferromanganese, ferroboron and ferrotitanium is carried out after the melt is refined in a furnace, and the modification is performed in a ladle using nickel - magnesium ligature, tin, silicobarium and ferrocerium. To determine the properties of cast iron, lattice, star-shaped and step technological samples, castings and samples for mechanical tests are poured.

The strength properties of cast irons are determined according to GOST 1497-84 on specimens with a diameter of 14 mm with an estimated length of 70 mm, crack resistance - on star-shaped 250 mm technological samples 140 mm high, and the limit of corrosion fatigue in gas environments - on standard samples when tested on the basis of 10 cycles . Thermal stresses were determined on lattice technological samples. Metallographic studies and analysis of structural components are carried out in accordance with GOST 3443-87. In the table. 2 shows the mechanical, antifriction, and performance properties of high-strength alloyed cast irons of experimental melts in castings, samples, and technological samples.
As can be seen from the table. 2, the proposed cast iron has higher characteristics of the limit of corrosion fatigue in gaseous media, the limiting mode of operation during friction, wear resistance and antifriction properties than the known one.
