Abstract
Description
The invention relates to the field of metallurgy, and more specifically to the spraying of plasma coatings and can be used to form wear-resistant, corrosion-resistant and functional coatings with a minimum content of oxides formed during the spraying process.
Houben, United States Patent 4,199,104, Apr. 22, 1980 Int. Cl'В05В 17/04, U.S. C. 239/81; 239/85;219/76.16. 23. Houben J.M., Liempd G.G. Problems Encoutered in the Development of locally shielding Plasma spray Devices. 9th. Inter. Thermal Spraying Conf. 1980, p.197-206). A known method of plasma spraying using a conical nozzle to a plasma torch with a length equal to the distance of the spraying powder (Johan M. Houben, United States Patent 4,199,104, Apr. 22, 1980 Int. Cl'B05B 17/04, USC 239/81; 239/85; 219 / 76.16, described in more detail in 23. Houben JM, Liempd GG Problems Encoutered in the Development of locally shielding Plasma spray Devices. 9th. Inter. Thermal Spraying Conf. 1980, p.197-206). In fig. 1 schematically shows a plasmatron (pos. 1) with a conical nozzle (pos. 2). During spraying, particles of the sprayed powder are fed into the plasma stream (pos. 3) through the nozzle (pos. 4) and under the action of the plasma flow enters the nozzle cavity (pos. 2). The angle of the solution of the inner conical surface of the nozzle is 30 °. As a result, the plasma flow with the sprayed particles is detached from the nozzle walls and zones with local vortex motion of the plasma-forming gas are formed. The supply of additional medium, gas and / or liquid nitrogen to these zones through the openings (pos. 5) of the nozzle (pos. 2) leads to an increase in pressure along the walls, the turbulence of the plasma flow in this case decreases. The additional medium reduces the temperature of the inner wall of the nozzle and prevents the absorption of atmospheric air through the gap between the outlet end of the nozzle and the substrate (pos. 6) on which the coating is formed (pos. 7). The disadvantage of this method of spraying is to reduce the temperature of the gas stream, which should heat and disperse the sprayed particles.
A known spraying method with a nozzle in which a plasma stream is extracted in the coating formation zone (Bobrov G.V. Improving the quality of plasma coatings by changing the nature of the effect of particle flow on the spraying surface // Research and development of theoretical problems in the field of powder metallurgy and protective coatings. Materials of the All-Union Conference. Minsk. May 24-26, 1984. - T. 3. - p. 255.). In the end part of the nozzle there is a collector through which the plasma jet is extracted and an additional nozzle block, which provides the input of an additional protective flow from pure gas. The plasma stream is extracted at a rate of 5 liters per second, which is 5 times higher than the consumption of plasma-forming gas. The disadvantage of this method of spraying is the inconsistency of the costs of the removed gas and the clean protective gas, as a result of which, at the nozzle exit, the temperature and velocity of the jet expiration are sharply reduced.
Е. (Houben J.M., Liempd G.G. Problems Encoutered in the Development of locally shielding Plasma spray Devices. 9 th. Inter. Thermal Spraying Conf. 1980, p.197-206.). In the work (Sidorenko V.V., Kruglyakov E.A., Zatoka A.E. Spraying of gas-thermal coatings by the thermal force of the jet. Technical advances in the field of gas transmission equipment: Collection of scientific works of VNIIGaM. 1986, pp. 124-129), compared with the method in which the plasma stream is extracted in the coating formation zone, the flow rate of the extracted gas is increased from 5 to 15 l / s. A disadvantage of this method is also the inconsistency between the amount of extraction gas and the arbitrary supply of protective gas to the nozzle outlet, and the high rate of extraction of the plasma-forming gas creates great difficulties for maintaining the inertia of the atmosphere in the spray spot, due to the entry (capture) of atmospheric air into the gap between the nozzle end and the sprayed surface. A known design for a plasma spray nozzle is described in (Houben J.M., Liempd G.G. Problems Encoutered in the Development of locally shielding Plasma spray Devices. 9 th. Inter. Thermal Spraying Conf. 1980, p.197-206.). In presented on fig. 2 designs, the inlet diameter of the nozzle (pos. 2) is three times the diameter of the outlet of the anode of the plasma torch (pos. 1). When the plasma jet flows out of the plasma torch, rarefaction zones are formed inside the nozzle with local vortex motion of the plasma-forming gas. From these near-wall regions of the nozzle, the plasma stream is removed (pos. 8) and fed by a compressor (pos. 9) through nozzles in the area of the outlet of the nozzle (pos. 10) to increase the inertness of the atmosphere in the spray spot. The disadvantages of this method is that the holes for the extraction of the plasma jet are perpendicular to the direction of its movement, as a result of which the extraction of a high-speed gas stream is not effective and its extraction is not 100% in the area of the spray spot, and the return of the plasma-forming gas at the nozzle end face is not effective either, how it is directed only inside the nozzle. As a result, a nozzle of a similar design interacts mainly with the peripheral part of the plasma jet. For the formation of coatings with amorphous and nano-structure, a nozzle device with 100% extraction of the plasma stream after acceleration and heating of the sprayed particles is known (Kalita V.I., Komlev D.N. Plasma coatings with nanocrystalline and amorphous structure. M: Leader, 2008. 386 from). For this nozzle design shown in fig. 3, it was experimentally established that even with the optimal configuration of the nozzle profile (pos. 2), for complete (100%) extraction of the plasma stream, the amount of extracted gas should be 1.5 times the amount of plasma-forming gas, which is natural when there is a through hole in output part of the nozzle. In order to avoid atmospheric air entering the nozzle, additional gas must be supplied to its free end. Such a supply of additional gas can be achieved by reusing the plasma-forming gas after its extraction, cooling and purification from nano-particles formed during the condensation of the sprayed material evaporated in the plasma jet. Gas extraction is carried out through an annular channel (pos. 11), remote from the anode outlet at a distance necessary for heating and accelerating the sprayed particles. The profile of this channel smoothly unfolds the plasma stream flowing onto it and directs it to the cooling device (refrigerator) (item 12). The compressor (pos. 9) is equipped with a filter that captures a portion of the sprayed material captured along with the gas flow to prevent the nanosized dust fraction from entering the spraying zone (up to 10% of the weight of the sprayed powder), which increases the quality of the coatings and further improves the ecological state of the spraying space . The return of the cooled and purified gas is carried out through the nozzle part of the nozzle (pos. 10) in two directions; inside the nozzle (this flow replaces the volume of the plasma flow extracted through the annular channel (pos. 11)) and perpendicular to the substrate on which the coating is formed (to preserve the inertness of the atmosphere in the spray spot). Schematically, the “plasmatron - nozzle” system (Fig. 3) can be divided into four zones: A — zone of heating and acceleration of the powder in the cylindrical part of the plasma torch channel; In - zone of heating and acceleration of the powder in the conical part of the nozzle; C is the plasma stream extraction zone; D is the coating formation zone.
To optimize the system "plasmatron - nozzle", the following provisions were used, published in the scientific and technical literature:
- бесступенчатый переход между плазмотроном и соплом насадки должен свести к минимуму потери кинетической энергии плазменного потока;- stepless transition between the plasmatron and nozzle nozzle should minimize the loss of kinetic energy of the plasma flow;
- плавное расширение сопла в зоне экстракции позволяет направленно удалять плазменный поток при минимальном захвате атмосферы воздуха;- smooth expansion of the nozzle in the extraction zone allows you to directionally remove the plasma stream with minimal air capture;
- для увеличения степени экстракции плазменного потока начальная часть сопла в зоне С имеет экран;- to increase the degree of extraction of the plasma stream, the initial part of the nozzle in zone C has a screen;
- длина сопла до экстракции плазменного потока должна быть выбрана равной дистанции, на которой происходит эффективный нагрев и ускорение частиц напыляемого порошка.- the length of the nozzle before the extraction of the plasma stream should be chosen equal to the distance at which the effective heating and acceleration of the particles of the sprayed powder occurs.
This source is the closest to the method of plasma spraying with a nozzle to the plasmatron, it was taken as a prototype.
The coating formed by the method specified in the prototype has the following disadvantages. In the gap of 5-10 mm wide between the outlet end of the nozzle and the coating on the substrate, air may enter from the surrounding atmosphere, despite the supply of returning plasma-forming gas in the direction of the substrate. Because of this, it is impossible to exclude the interaction of the sprayed material with oxygen in the surrounding atmosphere.
The objective of the invention is: the creation of a plasma spraying method with a nozzle to the plasmatron to increase the inertness of the atmosphere in the zone of formation of the coating on the substrate and a device for its implementation.
The technical result of the invention is: reducing the oxygen content in the sprayed coating.
The technical result is achieved by the fact that when implementing the method of plasma spraying with a nozzle, a cooled and purified gas extracted from a plasma jet is supplied to the plasma torch between the nozzle end and the sprayed part, and pure inert gas is fed into the nozzle part of the nozzle with a flow rate that is up to 3 times the plasma-forming flow rate gas, and spraying is carried out in a protective gas atmosphere in a chamber attached to the nozzle. In the plasma spraying device (shown in Fig. 4), a pure inert gas nozzle is installed between the gas extraction channel of the plasma jet (key 11) and the return gas outlet nozzle at a diameter equal to the nozzle exit diameter (key 13), the plasma-forming gas is fed back through an annular gap (pos. 10) with a diameter equal to 1.1–1.2 of the diameter of the spray spot at the end of the nozzle, and a chamber is attached to the end of the nozzle (pos. 14). The plasma jet gas extraction channel (item 4) is located at a distance necessary for maximum heating and acceleration of the particles of the sprayed material (zone B), the channel cross section is made with a smooth turn for minimal loss of speed when the extracted gas is turned. The nozzle for supplying pure inert gas (pos. 13) is made in the form of an annular gap with a diameter equal to the nozzle outlet diameter, the nozzle part of which is directed at an angle of 90 ° with respect to the axis of the plasma jet for uniform distribution of the inert gas entering through it in the volume of the nozzle outlet part and prevent atmospheric oxygen from entering the outlet of the nozzle during plasma gas extraction. The return gas outlet nozzle (pos. 10) is made in the form of an annular gap, the nozzle part of which is directed parallel to the axis of the plasma jet to reduce the oxygen content in the solidification zone and to cool the particles of the sprayed material. An intermediate nozzle (pos. 15) between the annular channel of plasma jet gas extraction and nozzles for supplying pure inert gas and return gas has been established for maximum (up to 100%) extraction of plasma jet gas and replacing it with pure inert gas. A chamber (pos. 14) is attached to the outlet end of the nozzle, which allows moving the part (pos. 6) in it at the time of spraying, and the protective atmosphere in the chamber is maintained by a pure inert gas and a cooled plasma return gas coming through the nozzle (pos. 13) jets, gas escapes from the chamber directed to the ventilation system through a non-return valve (key 16) to prevent atmospheric oxygen from entering the chamber.
The obtained technical result can be explained by the fact that the inertia of the atmosphere in the coating formation zone on the substrate increases.
