Abstract
Description
The invention relates to the field of special electrometallurgy, in particular to the processes of obtaining consumable electrodes of casting titanium alloy for casting parts of equipment operating in corrosive media under high pressure, especially in hydrogen sulfide under pressure of at least 70 MPa, and can be used in various industries In particular, in the manufacture of castings of body parts of gas valves and Christmas tree.
18%.The main requirements for materials operating in hydrogen sulfide under pressure of at least 70 MPa are their high corrosion resistance, tensile strength of at least 590 MPa and relative elongation of at least 18%.
Known alloys of technically pure titanium VT1-0 and VT1-00 according to GOST 26492 and alloys C-2 and C-3 according to ASTM B-367 have high corrosion resistance in hydrogen sulfide, good ductility, however, due to low strength, they cannot be used in the manufacture of castings for equipment operating under pressure of at least 70 MPa.
The “Method of obtaining consumable electrodes made of titanium and its alloys” is known in accordance with the patent of the Russian Federation No. 2081727. This method of obtaining consumable electrodes includes pouring lump waste in steel molds, activating the processing of the charge, laying into molds with a certain density and a certain order and pouring liquid titanium onto the charge. The surface of lumpy waste is activated by shot-blasting or sandblasting for 90-120 minutes. The activation process is accompanied by the removal of the refractory component of titanium oxides to a depth of 0.08–0.10 mm. In addition, the mold with lumpy waste is heated to T = 300-350 ° C.
The disadvantage of this method is the high complexity and high power consumption, as well as the fact that while maintaining the plastic properties of the alloy, its strength characteristics do not exceed 350 MPa.
The closest to the claimed method and adopted for the prototype is presented in the work: "Foundry production of new shipbuilding alloys" (Filin YA. And others. Foundry production of new shipbuilding alloys. L .: Shipbuilding, 1971) method of manufacturing consumable electrodes pouring lumpy waste in steel molds with cleaning of waste by tumbling or sandblasting and chemical cleaning by etching.
In this method, the necessary for hardening titanium, oxygen is completely removed from the waste surface, and additional alloying of the alloy with oxygen-containing additives, such as Yarek concentrate powder, TiO 2 , does not ensure uniform oxygen distribution in the volume of the consumed electrode, therefore the mechanical properties of the alloy are unstable as the ingot height, and the section.
The disadvantage of this method is the inability to provide the strength characteristics of more than 350 MPa.
The technical problem solved by this invention is to provide the possibility of obtaining consumable electrodes of titanium alloy for casting parts of equipment operating in hydrogen sulfide under a pressure of at least 70 MPa.
This technical problem is solved as follows.
One of the main hardeners of titanium is oxygen, which is introduced into the alloy with a titanium sponge in the manufacture of consumable electrodes and with waste during their secondary use.
In the proposed method of obtaining consumable electrodes of titanium alloy, it is proposed to use in smelting into mixture of commercially pure titanium, for example alloy VT1-0, VT1-00 according to GOST 26492 or C-2, C-3 according to ASTM B-367 and foundry production waste of these alloys with a preserved surface layer of the refractory component of titanium oxides.
The use of the invention provides an alloy of higher strength and ductility compared to existing alloys.
1.A flowchart of the process being implemented the proposed method is presented in FIG. one.
The method is implemented as follows.
Waste foundry, cut into pieces, subjected to short-term tumbling for 15-20 minutes to remove slag from gas cutting and the remains of the molding mixture, while the surface layer of titanium oxides is preserved. This allows you to add to the alloy 0.05-0.06% oxygen.
Twenty percent of the prepared waste is injected to the bottom of the smelting crucible. The remaining eighty percent of the prepared waste is placed into the mold over the entire height for uniform distribution of oxygen throughout the volume of the consumable electrode, while providing a gap of 50 ... 60 mm between the mold and the waste to obtain a solid electrode shell. A melt of technically pure titanium is poured into this gap in a 1: 1 ratio by weight with respect to the input waste.
The mold is allowed to cool for one to two hours. The prepared bar is attached to the electrodes and from the consumable electrodes made by this method, the castings are melted and cast.
From the consumable electrodes made by the proposed method, more than 70 heats were carried out in vacuum skull furnaces of various capacities and the parts of gas valves and gushing fittings were cast.
The resulting mechanical properties of the alloy are shown in FIG. 2 in Tab. 1 and fully comply with the strength and plastic characteristics for parts of equipment operating under pressure of at least 70 MPa.
Castings were subjected to hydrotesting at 105 MPa and pneumatic tests at an operating pressure of 70 MPa.
At the same time, samples of the obtained alloy were tested for corrosion resistance.
2.The test results are shown in FIG. 2 in Tab. 2
Experimental valve ZSH50x70 KZ, factory number 1, made of an alloy of the proposed method, has passed field tests.
The data of tables 1 and 2 and the results of field tests of an experimental valve show that the proposed method for producing titanium alloy is manageable and has an advantage over the known one.
The technical result - the method makes it possible to melt the alloy with enhanced strength characteristics and at the same time maintain high plastic properties of the metal in almost any melting unit designed for smelting casting titanium alloys.
The resulting mechanical properties provide the possibility of its use for casting parts of equipment operating in hydrogen sulfide under pressure of at least 70 MPa, as well as in various industries.
