Abstract
Description
п.The invention relates to a method for printing images on various materials and products by transferring an image from an ink ribbon to a printed material using a hot thermal head, and can be used for printing on diaries, packaging, printing products, souvenirs, labeling of goods, etc.
In the printing, souvenir activities, as well as in the labeling of products, various methods of applying the image are used, such as: hot stamping, inkjet printing, printing on labels with subsequent installation, etc. These solutions have various disadvantages, both economically and aesthetically. Something like: embossing requires the manufacture of cliches, inkjet printing is not suitable for all materials, and there are no paints imitating metallic sheen, stickers spoil the aesthetic appearance of products, and are also short-lived.
One way to get around the limitations of these methods is to directly print onto printed material using thermal transfer printing using special thermal transfer ink ribbons. Many methods have been proposed for transferring dye from a thermal transfer ribbon to a printed material. However, they are united by a common minus - the thermal transfer ribbon is quite expensive, and also has a limited range of colors and special effects. These shortcomings impede its widespread use in the printing industry.
These limitations are deprived of another type of ink ribbon - ribbon for hot stamping. Initially, this tape was developed for use on thermal presses using cliches. Unlike thermal transfer ribbon, hot stamping tape is produced by a large number of enterprises in many countries of the world, has a huge number of colors and shades, as well as types with hologram and other effects. In addition, it is 5 to 25 times cheaper.
The present invention provides a printing method that allows the use of a hot stamping tape in conjunction with a thermal transfer print head. This will significantly reduce the cost of printing, as well as expand the range of available ribbons.
Various attempts have been made to minimize the consumption of thermal transfer ribbon.
Один подход состоял в том, чтобы управлять скоростью подачи ленты относительно скорости подачи бумажной ленты, чтобы увеличить срок службы термотрансферной ленты [Патент US № 5415482].One approach was to control the feed speed of the tape relative to the feed speed of the paper tape in order to increase the life of the thermal transfer tape [US Patent No. 5415482].
Another attempt involves the use of a “multi-pass” thermal transfer ribbon with a thermal transfer printing device that has a removable reversible ribbon carriage [EP patent No. 0154990]. Such a tape carriage allows the user to remove the thermal transfer tape at the end of each passage and, having completely turned it over, begin its reuse. In an alternative embodiment, the thermal transfer printing apparatus is adapted to rewind a partially used thermal transfer tape automatically at the end of each pass [US Pat. No. 5,768,991]. These approaches as a result have complicated the design of the thermal transfer printing device.
Известен способ термотрансферной печати, заключающийся в том, что печать осуществляют в две стадии с одного ролика термотрансферной ленты, при этом на первой стадии ленту наматывают на переустановочную втулку, которую устанавливают на намоточный вал и печатают с одной половины ширины термотрансферной ленты, сматываемой с установленного на размоточном валу ролика, после чего снимают с намоточного вала намотанный на переустановочную втулку ролик, отпечатанный с одной половины ширины ленты и, переворачивая на 180o, устанавливают переустановочную втулку с намотанной лентой с помощью переходной втулки на размоточный вал и затем на второй стадии печатают с другой половины ширины ленты, причем размотку ролика осуществляют в противоположном направлении [патент РФ № 2201873].A known method of thermal transfer printing, which consists in the fact that the printing is carried out in two stages from one roller of the thermal transfer ribbon, while in the first stage the ribbon is wound on a reinstalling sleeve, which is installed on the winding shaft and printed from one half of the width of the thermal transfer ribbon wound from installed on unwinding roller shaft and then removed from the winding shaft wound on the adjustment sleeve roller, printed on one half of the width of the tape and, by turning through 180 o, adjusted pereusta ovochnuyu sleeve with coiled ribbon via bushing on unwinding shaft, and then in a second step the other half are printed with the tape width, wherein the unwinding roller is performed in the opposite direction [RF patent 2201873 №].
The disadvantages of the analogue: the complexity of the design, high consumption of thermal transfer ribbon.
Of the known technical solutions, the closest in purpose and technical nature to the claimed object is a printing method using an additional tape [US patents No. 5583555, 7153048]. Both inventions apply a similar principle of image formation on an ink ribbon, namely, transfer of image negative from a thermal transfer ribbon to an auxiliary synthetic ribbon. However, the solution described in the above patents involves the effect of thermal thermal transfer printheads directly on the ink ribbon, which is a serious drawback. The contact of the head with the ribbon automatically limits the range of tapes to special thermal transfer tapes (the disadvantages of which are also described above), and makes it impossible to use a cheap and widely available tape for hot stamping due to the fact that:
- структура ленты для горячего тиснения препятствует скольжению по печатной головке;- the structure of the tape for hot stamping prevents sliding on the print head;
- при воздействии на ленту для горячего тиснения теплового импульса от печатной головки, лента прилипает к термоэлементам и может вывести печатную головку из строя.- when the tape is applied to the hot stamping of a heat pulse from the print head, the tape adheres to the thermocouples and can damage the print head.
The essence of the invention is to eliminate the contact of the printed thermal head with a tape for hot stamping. Instead, the action is on the auxiliary tape. The auxiliary tape has a feature - a heat-sensitive layer of a binder (hot-melt adhesive) applied to one of its sides. In front of the print head, the hot stamping tape and the auxiliary tape are aligned with the heat-sensitive sides towards each other. The printed thermal head acts on the auxiliary tape, which eliminates the contact of the head and tape for hot stamping. When the print head acts on the auxiliary tape, the heat-sensitive layer on the auxiliary tape is activated and binds the dye sections pressed to it on the tape for hot stamping, forming an image negative. After separating the tapes, the image negative remains on the auxiliary tape, and the image positive on the ink ribbon for hot stamping. Next, the positive image is transferred from the hot stamping tape to the printed material or product using heat and pressure, which can be created by hot shafts or a hot pressure plate.
1.The implementation of the invention. The printing process is illustrated in FIG. one.
(6).The hot stamping tape (2) and the auxiliary tape with a heat-sensitive layer (1) are fed from the rolls so that the heat-sensitive layer of both tapes is located to meet each other. When the tapes pass between the thermal print head (3) and the pressure roller (4), the print head, according to a predetermined program, gives out thermal pulses that activate the heat-sensitive layer on the auxiliary tape. In the places of heating, the particles of the tape for hot stamping are bonded to the heat-sensitive layer of the auxiliary tape, they are separated from the base and fixed on the auxiliary tape. The portions transferred to the auxiliary tape are a negative of the printed image (8). The positive image (5) remains on the tape for hot stamping. The used auxiliary tape is wound on a roller (6).
Further, through the tension and leveling mechanism (7), the hot stamping tape is combined with the printed material (13) and gets between the heating shaft (9) and the pressure roller (12). Due to pressure and temperature, the positive image is transferred to the printed material (11). Used tape for hot stamping is wound on a roller (10). Also, instead of a hot shaft (9) and a pinch roller (12), a system can be used in which the image is transferred to the material by a hot pin plate.
The technical result is to reduce the cost of digital thermal transfer printing and expanding the range of available materials through the use of consumables, tapes for hot stamping.
