The closest in composition to the analogue adopted for the prototype is a glass crystal material for creating fairings according to US patent No. 4304603, publ. 12/08/1981 by the indices of the IPC
The task of the invention is to obtain a glass crystal material having a higher modulus of elasticity.
The technical result is an increase in the modulus of elasticity to 190 GPa.
The invention represents a group of objects: composition and method for its preparation.
%: SiO2 46-52, Al2O3 15-18, MgO 15-18, TiO2 8-16, Y2O34-8.Glass-crystalline material with a high modulus of elasticity based on glasses of a magnesium aluminosilicate system, containing crystalline phases of cordierite and yttrium silicate, and made of glasses of the following compositions in mol. %: SiO 2 46-52, Al 2 O 3 15-18, MgO 15-18, TiO 2 8-16, Y 2 O 3 4-8.
A method of obtaining a glass crystalline material with a high modulus of elasticity containing crystalline phases of cordierite and yttrium silicate, including the synthesis of glass composition in mol. %: SiO 2 46-52, Al 2 O 3 15-18, MgO 15-18, TiO 2 8-16, Y 2 O 3 4-8, for which the components are mixed to obtain a homogeneous mixture, which is poured into the cooking vessel and placed in a glass furnace. The mixture is melted in a slightly oxidizing atmosphere at a temperature of 1550-1600 ° C for 3-12 hours with homogenization of the melt, then the molten glass melt is cast onto a metal plate and annealed at a temperature of 550-650 ° C for 1-3 hours, after which it is inertia cooled, then the glass preform is subjected to a two-stage isothermal heat treatment with a first stage in the temperature range 720-800 ° C for 3-24 hours and a second stage in the temperature range from 950 to 1100 ° C for 3-24 hours, followed by inertial cooling to room temperature.
1.The inventive glass-crystalline material containing crystals of yttrium silicate and having high elastic modulus and low dielectric loss, which can be used for the manufacture of blanks fairings of antennas and radar devices in high-speed aircraft and missiles, are obtained from the compositions shown in Table 1.
The combination of oxides MgO, Al 2 O 3 and SiO 2 is introduced in a ratio close to the composition of cordierite (2MgO: 2Al 2 O 3 : 5SiO 2 ). TiO 2 is involved in the segregation process at the stage of primary heat treatment, in which crystallization centers are formed. Y 2 O 3 and SiO 2 form the crystalline phase of Y 2 Si 2 O 7 , which provides the claimed properties of the glass crystal material in the composition with cordierite.
Specific examples of compositions, heat treatment modes and properties of the materials proposed are shown in Table 2. From Table 2 it is seen that the glass ceramics of these compositions obtained by the above modes are technologically advanced in production, since they do not contain volatile and toxic components.
The invention is illustrated in the drawing, which shows the diffraction pattern of sample No. 2 (Table 2), obtained by heat treatment at 750 ° C for 6 hours in the first stage and at 1000 ° C for 6 hours in the second stage, where ys is yttrium silicate, mat is magnesium aluminum alloy solid solution, c - cordierite. The high value of the elastic modulus is due to the formation of a skeleton network of yttrium silicate crystals distributed in a matrix of cordierite crystals.
The elastic moduli of the obtained samples were measured on an ultrasonic setup using a pulsed method.
The introduction of SiO 2 in amounts less than the specified does not lead to glass formation, and the introduction of SiO 2 in amounts greater than the specified increases the melting temperature of the mixture to temperatures exceeding 1600 ° C, which is not provided by standard glass melting equipment and prevents the melt of the components. The introduction of Al 2 O 3 in amounts less than the claimed range of concentrations, removes glass ceramics from the crystallization region of cordierite. The introduction of Al 2 O 3 in quantities greater than the claimed range of concentrations increases the melting temperature of the mixture to temperatures exceeding 1600 ° C, which is not provided by standard glass melting equipment and prevents the melt of the components. The ratio of the oxides MgO, Al 2 O 3 and SiO 2 should be approximately 2: 2: 5 (stoichiometric ratio of the components in the cordierite formula) with a possible increase in the concentration of SiO 2 . The introduction of TiO 2 in a smaller amount than indicated, removes the composition from the segregation area at the stage of primary heat treatment and prevents the preparation of finely divided bulk crystallization. With the introduction of TiO 2 in larger quantities, spontaneous crystallization of the glass occurs at low tide and the integrity of the samples is violated. With a shift in the ratio of the concentrations of Y 2 O 3 and TiO 2 oxides towards an increase in the yttrium oxide content, the segregation pattern changes and bulk crystallization does not occur during heat treatment. The absence of the first stage of heat treatment, as well as heat treatment in the first stage at a temperature and duration lower than or higher than specified, leads to the release of yttrium titanate along with yttrium silicate, which reduces the elastic modulus of the material. Heat treatment in the second stage at a temperature and duration lower than or higher than indicated prevents the release of yttrium silicate, which reduces the elastic modulus of the material.
An increase in the elastic moduli of the obtained glass-crystalline material makes it possible to produce blanks for antenna fairings and radar devices with thinner walls, which significantly reduces the mass of the fairing.
The dielectric loss tangent is of the order of (2-7) ⋅10 -3 at a frequency of 10 10 Hz.
